    摘要: A system and method for unthrottled intake air control for an internal combustion engine. The engine has at least one combustion chamber provided with electromagnetic intake means. The opening and closing times of the intake means are adjustable entirely independently from the crankshaft position to control intake air supplied to the combustion chamber. A control unit is used to implement instructions for determining a first portion of requested intake airflow, which first portion requests a first engine response performance, and instructions for determining a second portion of requested intake airflow, which second portion requests a second engine response performance. The control unit implements instructions for processing the first and second airflow portions to make contributions to the first and second engine response performances, respectively, instructions for determining an intake means activation command, and instructions for providing the intake means activation command to the intake means to provide an engine response performance combining the first engine response performance with the second engine response performance.

    摘要: In an internal combustion engine equipped with a pair of intake ports for each cylinder and capable of controlling a quantity of air entering the engine by controlling an intake valve open timing and an intake valve closure timing of each of a pair of intake valves located in the respective intake ports, a two-intake-valve operating mode is used in a high-load, high-speed operating range, whereas a one-intake-valve operating mode is used in predetermined low- and mid-load, low- and mid-speed operating ranges to create a great gas flow within the cylinder. A fuel injector is located in a first one of the intake ports to allow air flow through the first intake port over all operating ranges. An electronic engine control unit switches a compensating mode for an injection amount of fuel injected by the injector, based on changes in a quantity of wall fuel mass flow adhered onto the inner wall surface of the intake port during transient operating conditions, from one of a first compensating mode which is preprogrammed to be suitable for the one-intake-valve operating mode and a second compensating mode which is preprogrammed to be suitable for the two-intake-valve operating mode to the other.

Then, in order to resolve an error in intake air amount in the learning region, a correction value for correcting control process of the valve lift amount variable mechanism is learned. When the learning of the correction value is converged, the learning correction value is corrected with an occupied rate of the valve lift amount variable mechanism in the influence ratio between influences on the two mechanisms in relation to the error. Further, based on the error occurring in a state corrected with the learning correction value which is corrected with the influence ratio, a correction value for correcting control process of the center phase variable mechanism is learned.
