This invention provides a compact effluent water reclamation apparatus which is minimized in the kinds and amounts of chemicals to be used for the recovery of water to thereby reduce the amount of waste and eliminate equipment which necessitates a large area for installation. The effluent water reclamation apparatus comprises a reverse osmosis device and is adapted to treat acid-alkali effluent water containing organic matter but no fluorine, by concentrating the acid-alkali effluent water containing organic matter by reverse osmosis, evaporating the resulting concentrated water to dryness and collecting the water permeating through a reverse osmosis membrane. The apparatus is characterized in that the apparatus comprises as arranged upstream from the reverse osmosis device a neutralizing device for neutralizing the effluent water to prevent a scale component from separating out from the effluent water in the process of reverse osmosis, and a biological treatment tank for biologically treating the neutralized effluent water.

An apparatus for removing non-condensable gas accumulated in the exchanger tubes of a heat exchanger. A vertically elongated tank having retained in its lower portion a liquefied working medium for the exchanger tubes is provided beside the heat exchanger. The tank communicates as its lower portion with the lower ends of the tubes and at its upper portion with the upper ends of the tubes by lines each provided with a valve. A gas release pipe extends downward from outside into the upper portion of the tank through the tank wall. A working medium condensing cooling tube is provided in the upper portion of the tank. The interior of the tank is partitioned into a condensing tank and a tank main body positioned therebelow and having an upper portion communicating with the upper portion of the condensing tank and a lower portion communicating with the lower portion of the condensing tank. The non-condensable gas is withdrawn from the exchanger tubes in portions of progressively increasing pressure and led into the tank, and the gas is released from the tank to the atmosphere through the release pipe after the gas has been withdrawn from all the tubes.

There is disclosed A polyester based resin composition (D) which comprises a polyamide resin (A) and a polyester resin (B), or a polyamide resin (A), a polyester resin (B) and a polyethylene terephthalate resin (C), characterized in that the polyester resin (B) is obtained by polycondensation of a dicarboxylic acid component containing 0.5 to 60 mol % of a dicarboxylic acid having a cyclic acetal skeleton and/or a diol component containing 0.5 to 60 mol % of a diol having a cyclic acetal skeleton, and that the blending proportions of the polyamide resin (A), the polyester resin (B) and the polyethylene terephthalate resin (C) are each in the range of 1 to 99% by weight, 1 to 99% by weight and 0 to 98% by weight, respectively on the basis of total sum weight of the components (A), (B) and (C). There is further disclosed a molded product (film, sheet, thin wall hollow container, etc.). The above polyester based resin composition and a product molded therefrom are each excellent in transparency color tone, gas barrier properties, pinhole resistance and mechanical performance.

There are disclosed a process for producing glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate by the transesterification of glycidol and methyl methacrylate, etc. which process comprises carrying out the transesterification in the presence of a polymerization inhibitor by using, as a catalyst, a quaternary ammonium salt represented by the general formula (I) or a quaternary phosphonium salt represented by the general formula (II)(R.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3 R.sup.4)NX (I)(R.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3 R.sup.4)PX (II)wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or the like, and X is a cyanide ion, cyanate ion or the like to complete the reaction; thereafter arresting the reaction by adding a catalyst deactivator represented by the general formula (III)SB (iii)wherein S is a sulfonic acid or a heteropolyacid and B is an alkali metal excluding potassium or an alkaline earth metal; and distilling away unreacted methyl methacrylate, etc. under reduced pressure and two similar modified processes. The processes can produce highly pure glycidyl methacrylate, etc. substantially free from a chlorine component and the processes can enhance the conversion of glycidol without lowering the purity and yield of the objective product.
