摘要： Disclosed is a coating method comprising the steps of applying a base coat composition to a substrate, applying a clear coating composition to the coated surface while the applied base coat composition is still uncured and curing the two coating compositions thus applied at the same time, the method being characterized in that the base coat composition is an aqueous one containing a coloring pigment and that the clear coating composition is a curable one containing a basal resin and a curing catalyst as main components, the basal resin being a resin (Y) having in the molecule hydroxyl group and/or hydrolyzable group both directly attached to the silicon atom, and epoxy group or a resin mixture (Z) of a resin or a compound (Z-1) having hydroxyl group and/or hydrolyzable group both directly attached to the silicon atom and a resin (Z-2) having epoxy group.

The present invention further provides a method for forming a topcoat which comprises applying the aqueous colored base coating composition (A) to a substrate and applying to the base coat an organic solvent type clear coating composition (B) to be cured by the crosslinking reaction between a carboxyl group and an epoxy group.

C., applying a clear thermosetting polymer coating composition to the second layer to form a third layer and heating the coated article to cure the three layers at the same time.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for forming a multi-layer paint film, comprising: applying a cationic electrodeposition paint containing a block polyisocyanate compound as a cross-linking agent on a surface of a painted matter, applying a water based intermediate coat paint containing a block polyisocyanate compound as a cross-linking agent on an electrodeposition paint film surface without curing the electrodeposition paint film to form an intermediate coat paint film, and then heating to cure both of the electrodeposition paint film and the intermediate coat paint film at the same time to thereby form a multi-layer paint film, wherein the above cationic electrodeposition paint contains a tin base catalyst of at least 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin solid matter, and a cross-linking curing reaction in the electrodeposition paint film is controlled so that it starts earlier than a cross-linking curing reaction in the intermediate coat paint film.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for forming a multi-layer paint film, comprising: applying a cationic electrodeposition paint containing a block polyisocyanate compound as a cross-linking agent on a surface of a painted matter, applying a water based intermediate coat paint containing a block polyisocyanate compound as a cross-linking agent on an electrodeposition paint film surface without curing the electrodeposition paint film to form an intermediate coat paint film, and then heating to cure both of the electrodeposition paint film and the intermediate coat paint film at the same time to thereby form a multi-layer paint film, wherein the above cationic electrodeposition paint contains a tin base catalyst of at lest 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin solid matter, and a cross-linking curing reaction in the electrodeposition paint film is controlled so that it starts earlier than a cross-linking curing reaction in the intermediate coat paint film.

摘要： An aqueous color paint composition comprising(I) an aqueous dispersion of acrylic polymer fine particles,(II) a modified polyester resin aqueous dispersion obtained by neutralizing, with a basic substance, a modified polyester resin formed by polymerizing (A) a radical-polymerizable unsaturated group-containing polyester resin and (B) a mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and another copolymerizable unsaturated monomer and having an acid value of 8 to 200 and a hydroxyl value of 30 to 300, and dispersing the resulting resin in an aqueous dispersion medium,(III) a crosslinking agent, and(IV) a color pigment.The composition is, even if high-solid, good in coatability and excellent in smoothness of the coated film. It is therefore quite suitable as a high-solid base coat composition when coating an outside plate, etc. of automobiles, two-wheelers, electric appliances, etc. requiring beautiful appearance.
