The alluminum alloy material is heated for dispersing a precipitate of an Al--Mn intermetallic compound at a density of at a minimum 1.times.10.sup.5 /mm.sup.3 for a size of 0.1 .mu.m to 3 .mu.m. A method of the surface treatment of a porous material which comprises the step of electrolyzing the porous material in an electrolytic bath composed of an aqueous solution of at least one salt selected from the group consisting of alkali metal thiotungstate, alkali metal thioantimonate, alkali metal thiostannate, alkali metal thiocuprate, alkali metal thioarsenate, alkali metal thioaurate, alkali metal thioplatinate, alkali metal thioniobate, alkali metal thiovanadate, alkaline earth metal thiotungstate, alkaline earth metal thioantimonate, alkaline earth metal thiostannate, alkaline earth metal thiocuprate, alkaline earth metal thioarsenate, alkaline earth metal thioaurate, alkaline earth metal thioplatinate, alkaline earth metal thioniobate, alkaline earth metal thiovanadate, ammonium thiotungstate, ammonium thioantimonate, ammonium thiostannate, ammonium thiocuprate, ammonium thioarsenate, ammonium thioaurate, ammonium thioplatinate, ammonium thioniobate and ammonium thiovanadate, to thereby impregnate the porous material with the metallic sulfide. Optionally, the porous material may be immersed alternately in an aqueous solution prepared as described above for the electrolytic bath and an acid aqueous solution after the electrolysis to further impregnate the porous material with the metallic sulfide.

The materials having such films fixed thereon have a wide application for interior building and glass-lining and as material of bearings.

A method for the surface treatment of anodic oxide film is disclosed which comprises the steps of electrolyzing the porous surface of anodic oxide film of aluminium or aluminium alloy in an aqueous solution of ammonium thiomolybdate, optionally immersing it in an aqueous solution of ammonium thiomolybdate or alkali metal thiomolybdate and in dilute mineral acid or organic acid alternately, and subjecting it to a heat treatment so as to impregnate the micropores of the anodic oxide film with molybdenum sulfide and to fix the molybdenum sulfide therein.

A process of treating an anodic oxide film wherein a base material of a valve metal is anodized to form the anodic oxide film thereon, which is then impregnated with a polymerizable organic metal compound and thereafter subjected to polymerization of the compound, whereby the micropores of the anodic oxide film are filled and sealed with the polymerized organometallic compound. According to this process, there is provided a base material having an anodic oxide film impregnated with polymerized organometallic compound which is excellent in heat resistance, heat radiance, and electrical insulation, and hence the base material is useful for the printed wiring board, electrically-insulative heat sink, heat-resistant insulated wire and the like.
