摘要: A clocked cascadable power regulator including synchronization logic and PWM control logic. The synchronization logic receives a clock signal and asserts a digital output signal synchronized with the clock signal in response to assertion of a digital input signal. The PWM control logic controls a PWM cycle in response to the digital input signal and in response to an output control condition. The regulator may be used alone or cascaded with other similar regulators for implementing a multiphase power converter with multiple channels. The clocked cascadable regulator uses digital signals to communicate between channels. Digital signals are not prone to the same kind of signal degradation or noise susceptibility as analog signals. In the cascaded configuration, there is one clock common to all channels which ensures that the phase separation between the channels is symmetrical to within the jitter tolerance of the common clock.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for treating cardiac arrhythmias are provided. An interval between first and second consecutive beats of a heart, having first and second chamber types, is determined. The heart is paced at a first rate if the first beat is from the first chamber type and the second beat is from the second chamber type and the interval is less than a predetermined amount of time or if the first and second beats are both from the second chamber type. The heart is paced at a second rate if the first beat is from the first chamber type and the second beat is from the second chamber type and the interval is more than the predetermined amount of time.

摘要: An apparatus for improved grounding and heat transfer between flange mount field effect transistors and printed wiring boards is provided comprising a cut-out formed in the printed wiring board, extending between its top and bottom surfaces, defining an edge which is covered or plated with a conductive material at least in some areas. One or more vias also extend between the top and bottom surfaces of the cut-out and are exposed along the edge. A field effect transistor is placed in the cut-out and into contact with a heat sink element designed to enhance grounding of the field effect transistor and improve the transfer of heat to the chassis or other metal support structure for the printed wiring board.

摘要: An electric apparatus and a method of communication between an apparatus and a user are described. The apparatus comprises sensor means, for example, a camera (18) for detecting objects (34, 36) in its proximity. The position of objects (34, 36) is stored in a memory (M). A directional pointing unit (20), for example, in the form of a mechanical pointing element or with a light source for generating a concentrated light beam (40) can be directed onto objects in the proximity of the apparatus. In a dialog, the corresponding object can thus be pointed out to a human user.

摘要: A reduced pin count, dual channel driver interface is configured to interface a supervisory controller with a plurality of multi-phase output channel switching circuits of a multi-phase DC-DC regulator. Each dual channel driver is configured for placement relatively close to output channel sense points, so as to effectively reduce the distance that would otherwise have to be traversed by noise sensitive voltage signals. Sensed current representative signals are processed within the dual driver for current balance between a respective multi driver pair, and are combined to supply the controller with the average current signal of the dual channels. The controller uses this average current-information to adjust respective pulse width modulation signals that are supplied to the dual channel drivers.

摘要: An electronic circuit includes a dynamic regulator connected to a load and a dc-to-dc converter to reduce a need for bulky and expensive capacitors which would otherwise be required to suppress transients. The dynamic regulator comprises one or both of a current source circuit for actively sourcing current to the load during load current demand transients, and a current sink circuit for actively sinking current from the load during load current excess transients. The dynamic regulator preferably senses the load voltage, and tracks the load voltage. The current source circuit preferably includes a current source switch, and a current source controller for operating the current source switch responsive to the load voltage falling rapidly with respect to the tracked load voltage. In a similar fashion, the current sinking circuit may include a current sink switch, and a current sink controller for operating the current source switch responsive to the load voltage rising quickly above the tracked load voltage. In one embodiment, the load voltage tracking may be provided by a resistor-capacitor (R/C) network connected across the load. The R/C network may operate at a fast time constant for following load ripple, but at a slower time constant when sourcing or sinking current. The dynamic regulator is preferably a monolithic integrated circuit and may be either separate from or incorporated into the dc-to-dc converter.
