摘要: A method and apparatus for recognizing a state machine in circuit design in a high-level IC description language. The present invention analyzes high-level IC description language code, such as VHDL and Verilog®, of an IC design and extracts description information corresponding to a state machine. The description information can be, for example, the high-level IC description language code corresponding to the state machine, a state diagram of the state machine, a state table for the state machine, or other representation of the state machine. In one embodiment, the present invention identifies a set of one or more processes as defined by VHDL “process” statements. By identifying one or more clocked processes, one or more transition processes, and one or more output processes, the present invention provides a state machine summary to describe the state machine identified in the high-level IC description language code.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an interactive intelligent toy that provides the appearance and experience of a toy hamster moving in, and interacting with, its environment and habitat. In an exemplary embodiment, the interactive intelligent toy comprises an intelligent motive and control component enclosed by a cover resembling a hamster, with fur coat, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and whiskers. The motive component includes a drive mechanism and circuitry operable to control the drive mechanism, monitor and detect user and event inputs, and detect and decode embedded codes from a pathway and perform predetermined actions or generate predetermined sounds in response. The motive component moves along and through a pathway component having one or more embedded codes detectable by the motive component, the embedded codes providing information to the motive component to direct desired action of the motive component.

摘要: A tracking system is described in which a mobile tag having an unknown position is tracked in space over time. The mobile tag transmits a signal comprising a sequence of frequency components at different frequencies. The transmitted signal is received at each of a plurality of receivers, each having a known location. Each of the receivers measures the phase of each of the tones and the phase measures are passed to a central processing unit. The central processing unit then uses the determined phase measures to determine the position of the tag at the time of the transmission. Various novel tag arrangements are described which generate new transmission signals which improve accuracy and reliability of the position measurements obtained.

摘要: A signalling system is provided which can be used to update the prices of goods which are electronically displayed on supermarket shelves (1). The signalling system comprises a first signalling device having an input terminal for receiving electrical message data received from a central computer system (5), a spread spectrum encoder for encoding the received message data and an electroacoustic converter (11) for converting the encoded data into corresponding acoustic signals and for transmitting the acoustic signals into a transmission medium. The signalling system also comprises a second signalling device (3) having means for receiving acoustic signals from said transmission medium and for converting the received acoustic signals into corresponding electrical signals, a spread spectrum decoder for decoding the received signals and a message regenerator for regenerating the message data transmitted by the first signalling device from the signals output by the decoder.

摘要: A method for modulating a video signal. Frames of a plurality of frames are selected for modulation. A first magnitude alternation pattern is designated for each of a first area of a field of the selected frames. A second magnitude alternation pattern is designated for each of a second area of the field of the selected frames. The intensity of a plurality of pixels of a plurality of scan lines of the field of the selected frames is altered as designated by either the first magnitude alternation pattern or the second magnitude alternation pattern.

摘要: A structure and method for mounting a processor assembly on a mother board and a structure and method for cooling the processor assembly are described. The processor assembly includes a processor circuit board assembly which is located adjacent to a heat sink for removing heat from the circuit board assembly. The heat sink and circuit board assembly are maintained in an upright position with respect to the mother board by a fame mounted on the mother board and/or the computer system chassis. A cover mounted to the top of the frame holds a connector on the processor circuit board assembly in mating contact with a connector on the mother board. The cover also serves to complete an enclosure around the heat sink and processor circuit board assembly. Fans mounted to the frame move air from an intake end of the processor assembly, across cooling fins on the heat sink, to an outlet end of the processor assembly such that a ducted cooling system is provided for the processor assembly.
