摘要： A multihardness foamed seat having side rolls including one or more zones of a second polyurethane foam encapsulated in a first polyurethane foam is prepared by arranging the seat mould (10) so that the side roll well (12) is inclined in a direction parallel to its length, introducing a liquid first foam formulation into the side roll well, and then introducing a liquid second foam formulation within a time interval corresponding to between 0.01t to 1.5t where t is the cream time of the first foam formulation. The process is particularly useful for the preparation of automobile seats having side rolls.

摘要： A process for preparing a dispersion of a filler e.g., melamine, urea or borax in a dispersion or graft polymer polyol is provided. The process comprises (1) dispersing the filler in a suitable basestock (e.g., a polyether polyol) and (2) thereafter using this as the basestock for preparing the dispersion or graft polymer polyol.The polymer which is prepared in dispersed form in the second step may be for example (1) the reaction product of a polyamine, hydrazine or hydrazide and an isocyanate (PHD polymer) or (2) the reaction product of an olamine and an isocyanate (PIPA polymer). Alternatively styrene and acrylonitrile can be graft polymerised in the basestock in step (2). The new dispersion or graft polymer polyols containing dispersed filler are useful in the manufacture of fire resistant polyurethane foam for e.g., furniture applications.

摘要： Emulsions of oil and water are broken by treating them with a demulsifier which is a polysiloxane polyalkylene oxide copolymer in which the polyalkylene oxide segment is composed of random ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units.The demulsifier is particularly useful in breaking emulsions of water in crude oil which are normally difficult to separate and in breaking emulsions at relatively low temperatures, e.g. 30.degree. to 45.degree. C.

摘要： A process for preparing polyurea or polyurethane/urea foams from a polyamine or aminated polyether polyol is provided. The process comprises reacting the above component with a polyisocyanate (e.g. TDI, MDI etc.), a blowing agent (e.g. water) and a carboxylic acid or carboxylate acid salt. The function of the carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid salt is to slow down the reaction between the amine and the isocyanate so that effective foaming can take place before the reaction is completed.

摘要： Fluid polymer polyol dispersions which impart improved fire resistance to polyurethane foam. The fluid polymer polyol dispersions are prepared by grafting one or more monomers onto a polyol backbone with the difference that the grafting takes place in the presence of a flame retardant. During the grafting process the flame retardant is incorporated into the fluid polymer polyol dispersion. When such fluid polymer polyol dispersions are used, the fire resistance of the final polyurethane foam is improved relative to cases where a conventional fluid polymer polyol dispersion and a flame retardant are added separately to the polyurethane foam formulation.

摘要： A process for preparing a polyurethane foamed article including a hard foam encapsulated by a soft foam is provided. The process provides improved encapsulation over that described in EP 68820 by frothing the hard foam formulation, with for example carbon dioxide, before it is introduced onto the rising soft foam formulation. The hard foam formulation is frothed so that is density is between 75% and 145% of the soft foam formulation.
