摘要： A vehicle-mounted information processing apparatus such as a car-navigation system detects that a key switch of the vehicle has been set up at a Lock position (i.e., the engine is stopped). After that, the apparatus performs data reproduction of data files in an order from the oldest, then re-recording the reproduced data files with no change added thereto. Here, the above-described data files, which are stored within a magnetic disk device built in the apparatus, have been not updated for a constant time-period. This re-recording prevents a data loss caused by a thermal decay in the case where the magnetic disk device is mounted inside the vehicle that is likely to have existed under a high-temperature environment for a long time-period.

摘要： An optical disk device which uses a light spot for reproducing data, including photodetector, a decoder, and a non-linear equalizer provided between the photodetector and the decoder for correcting non-linear distortions in a reproduced signal from an optical disk. The non-linear equalizer includes a linear equalizer and a decision feedback equalizer provided after the linear equalizer. The non-linear equalizer includes a detector for detecting a signal on the basis of the output of the linear equalizer with the output of the detector being input to the decision feedback equalizer, the output of which is input to the detector along with the output of the linear equalizer in an additive manner.

摘要： In a magnetic disk apparatus which is removably mounted or embedded to a host apparatus and intermittently accessed for recording/reproducing data, a RAM contained in the host apparatus is utilized for a portion or entirety of a buffer RAM for use in the intermittent access to accomplish a reduction in size and cost of the magnetic disk apparatus. In addition, the magnetic disk apparatus is controlled to rotate a magnetic disk at a variable rotational speed, and operated at a rotational speed at which the total power consumption is minimized in accordance with the capacity of the utilized buffer RAM and whether an access is made for recording or reproduction, thereby improving a power saving effect.

摘要： A data recording/reproduction method and apparatus uses an optical disk equipped with wobbling track guide grooves disposed in a track scanning direction and minutely wobbled. The apparatus uses a circuit for detecting and correcting displacement of an optical spot position from the wobbling track, and a system for allowing data to correspond to front and rear edges of recording pits as a recording system, and includes a circuit for independently handling reproduction pulses obtained from reproduction signals of the recording pits on the front and rear edge sides and for generating reproduction clocks. A circuit resynthesizes the two series of reproduction pulse trains by a specific pattern portion in the data. Another optical disk apparatus divides each track into zones, and switches a rate of revolution each zone to attain a substantially equal linear velocity. A servo signal reproduction clock generation circuit and a data signal recording/reproduction clock generation circuit are disposed separately. The latter changes a frequency division ratio in accordance with the zones so that a clock having a predetermined frequency can be generated even when the rate of revolution changes.

摘要： A grinding abnormality monitoring method and device for grinding a plurality of works of the same type are proposed which can improve the accuracy of judgment whether an abnormality is generated or not by properly setting a threshold value. According to the method or the device, by setting at least one of upper and lower limit values of a trial grinding load detected at the trial grinding of at least one of the works, an occurrence of grinding abnormality is judged when an actual grinding load detected at the actual grinding of work exceeds at least one of the upper and lower limit values thereof which varies depending on the time elapsed from the start of the actual grinding or a position of work relative to a grinding wheel.
