摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing or enlarging an image. More specifically, this invention can increase or decrease the magnification ratio of an image even while scanning each line. This invention involves converting a first image with a first pel density to a second image with a second pel density. The intensity P of a new pel at a point p of the second image is represented by ##EQU1## where m is the number of reference pels of the first image that are sampled and that are within a given two-dimensional reference window when it is in a predetermined position corresponding to the point p, where Ii is the intensity of the i-th pel of the m sampled reference pels, and where .alpha.i is a contribution rate indicating how much the i-th pel contributes to the intensity P. Pre-calculated contribution rate data (.alpha.i) and pre-calculated shifting amount data indicating the relative amount the reference window is to be shifted are stored in a memory. The shifting amount data is used to position the reference window to a predetermined position where the m reference pels are sampled, and the contribution rate data and the values of the m sampled pels are used to determine the intensity P.

摘要: An information distribution system, a terminal device, an information distribution server, an information distribution server, an information distribution method, a terminal device connection method, an information processing program product, and a storage medium are provided. An information distribution system with a tree-structure network includes an information distribution server placed in a root node and terminal devices placed in nodes below the root node. Bidirectional communication can be always performed between the nodes. When a terminal device sends a request for information to be distributed from the information distribution server, each of the terminal devices constituting the information distribution system transfers the request to an adjacent node, the request transfer being performed from the requesting terminal device to a storage node storing the information, and transfers to an adjacent node the information supplied from the storage node, the information transfer being performed from the storage node to the requesting terminal device, in response to the transferred request. The requesting terminal device stores the transferred information.

摘要: In a semiconductor integrated circuit, a temperature sensor circuit includes a pulse source for generating a count pulse and a resistor having a resistance changing dependently upon a temperature change. The temperature detecting circuit is configured to convert the change of the resistance of the resistor responding to the temperature change, into the pulse number of the count pulses, in response to each application of a temperature measuring signal having a first frequency, in order to generate a count signal. A counter counts the count signal and accumulates a count value for each temperature measuring signal so as to hold the accumulated count value. The counter outputs the accumulated count value in response to a reset signal having a second frequency lower than the first frequency. The counter is then reset by the reset signal.

摘要: To mount a TSOP on an interposer substrate, leads provided to the TSOP are joined to pads of the interposer substrate by a thermosetting conductive resin, and the TSOP exclusive of the leads is joined to ground layers formed in the interposer substrate by a thermosetting conductive resin. The interposer substrates with the TSOPs mounted thereon are stacked in eight layers in such a manner that the TSOPs face downward. Then, leads of the upper interposer substrate are joined to pads formed in the rear face of the lower interposer substrate by a thermosetting conductive resin, so that the interposer substrates adjacent in a vertical direction are connected.

摘要: An information processing system operates under a multi-tasking operating system in which each task to be run is assigned a priority level. A Clock Switch (41) is positioned between the Clock Oscillator (50) and the Processor (10). A System Timer (70) establishes periodic intervals of time. At the beginning of each time interval, the System Timer, via an Interrupt Controller (60) and Transition Detector (42), turns ON (if its not already ON) the clock to the Processor by sending a Clock Start Signal to the Clock Switch. A Clock Control Program is assigned the lowest priority such that the Clock Control Program runs if and only if there are no other tasks running. When the Clock Control Program runs, it sends a code to a Register (43), which in turn sends a Clock Stop signal to the Clock Switch, thereby stopping the clock to the Processor. As described above, the System Timer will restart the clock again at the beginning of the next time interval. By stopping the clock to the Processor, the power to and the heat dissipated by the Processor are reduced. In an alternate embodiment, the frequency of the clock signal to the processor is reduced, rather than completely stopping the clock to the Processor.

摘要: In an image pickup system for use in combination with a craft (50) flying over an object zone (51), a plurality of photoelectric transducers are arranged in the craft to pick up partial images of the object zone, respectively, and are divided into forward and backward halves that are operable in cooperation with a signal processing unit (65) to obtain a stereo image of the object zone from the partial images. A selected one of the partial images is picked up from a selected one of the forward half transducers at a time instant and is thereafter picked up again at another time instant with an interval left between the time instants from another one of the backward half transducers that is symmetrical with the selected forward half transducer and spaced apart a predetermined number of photoelectric transducers from the selected forward half transducer. The interval is defined by the predetermined number. The signal processing unit may be located either in the craft or in a ground station.

摘要: The present invention relates to an information processing system, and an information processing apparatus and method in which authentication processing on a network can be easily performed. A setting terminal device sends registration information input by a user to a CE-device registration setting server. The CE-device registration setting server generates connection information for connecting CE devices to the Internet based on the registration information. The setting terminal device receives the connection information from the CE-device registration setting server and stores it in a memory card. When the memory card is attached, the CE device reads the connection information so as to connect to a network. The present invention can be applied to electronic devices connected to a network.

摘要: A device authentication module and an encryption module can be connected via a dynamic link in a CE device.A random number is generated in an authentication server (5). The device authentication module (7) combines a pass-phrase and this random number to generate a digest, and transmits this and a device ID to the encryption module (8). The encryption module encrypts a communication pathway and transmits these items of information to the authentication server (5). The authentication server (5) searches for the pass-phrase based on the device ID and combines this and the generated random number to generate a digest. This digest is compared with the digest received from the encryption module (8) for device authentication. The encryption module (8) receives from the device authentication module (7) not the pass-phrase but a digest, and therefore can be connected via a dynamic link instead of a static link.

摘要: In a device registration system, user authentication and device authentication of a CE device are executed in a single session, and the user and the CE device are associated with each other if these authentications succeed. The CE device obtains information for the user authentication from an IC card and a portable memory, and sends the information and device authentication information to a device registration unit. The device registration unit sends the information for the user authentication to a user authentication unit, and the device authentication information to a device authentication unit. The user authentication unit executes a user authentication process and sends information of the user to the device registration unit if the authentication succeeds. The device authentication unit executes a device authentication process and sends information of the device to the device registration unit if the authentication succeeds. The device registration unit associates the user information and the device information with each other.
