This engine controller comprises a circuit board (12) for controlling an engine; an aluminum die-cast main case body (20) having an open top; and a covering member (30) made of an iron-based metal plate which is preliminarily applied with surface treatment, the covering member (30) being fixedly clamped to the main case body (20) by means of a setscrew (40) so as to hermetically close the open top of the main case body (20); wherein the main case body (20) is provided thereon with a pedestal (24) or groove (25) on which a liquid or jellied water-proofing adhesive (50) is coated or filled (piled), thereby enabling entire outer peripheral edge face (33a) of the covering member (30) to be covered by the water-proofing adhesive (50).

    摘要: An electromagnetically driven valve includes a driven valve having a stem and carrying out reciprocating motion along a direction in which the stem extends, a disc support base having an abutment surface, a disc extending from one end coupled to the stem toward the other end supported by the disc support base so as to allow free oscillation of the disc, and an electromagnet applying electromagnetic force to the disc. The disc has a root portion formed at the other end, and an arm portion formed from the root portion to one end. The electromagnet has a surface facing the arm portion. When the disc is attracted to the electromagnet the abutment surface abuts on the root portion and a gap is created between the surface and the arm portion. With such a structure, excellent quietness and durability can be achieved and energy loss can be reduced.

    摘要: An electromagnetically driven valve includes an electromagnet having a coil and generating electromagnetic force, and an upper disc and a lower disc each having a support end and carrying out oscillating movement between a valve-opening position and a valve-closing position around the support end. The upper disc and the lower disc are held at a position intermediate between the valve-opening position and the valve-closing position while the electromagnetic force is not applied. As a result of current supply to the coil, the electromagnetic force in a direction to move the upper disc and the lower disc to the valve-opening position and the valve-closing position acts on each position of the upper disc and the lower disc. The electromagnet is provided such that a distance L1 between the position (X1) and the support end is different from a distance L2 between the position (X2) and the other support end. With such a structure, an electromagnetically driven valve of which initial drive is facilitated is provided.

    摘要: An electromagnetically driven valve includes a driven valve having a stem extending in a prescribed direction and an umbrella-shaped portion provided at a tip end of the stem and opening/closing an intake/exhaust port, a lower disc and an upper disc having one ends coupled to the stem and the other ends supported by a disc support base so as to allow free oscillation of the disc respectively and oscillating around the other ends so as to cause the driven valve to carry out reciprocating motion in the prescribed direction, a lash adjuster provided in the stem, and a guide ring guiding the lash adjuster along the prescribed direction. The lash adjuster contracts and expands in the prescribed direction and accommodates displacement of the stem produced in a direction orthogonal to the prescribed direction as a result of reciprocating motion of the driven valve. With such a structure, the driven valve carries out smooth reciprocating motion.

    摘要: In an internal combustion engine having a plurality of electromagnetically driven valves for each cylinder, when an required EGR amount Er is relatively small during an exhaust gas recirculation performed independently of the exhaust stroke, a first exhaust gas recirculation mode is entered by driving only a first exhaust valve of each cylinder. An open valve duration Td1 for achieving the required EGR amount Er in a one-valve drive manner is longer than a corresponding open valve duration in a two-valve drive manner. Therefore, even if the required EGR amount Er is small, a “one-valve drive in pattern 1” mode can be achieved provided that Td1>a. That is, the incidence of performing the control in pattern 2, which allows only a narrow range of control, can be reduced. Hence, degradation of controllability can be prevented even if the required EGR amount Er is small.
