摘要: A system for providing multicast distribution of incrementally enhanced content is disclosed. The system may include encoding content by utilizing an incremental layer encoding algorithm to generate a low resolution base stream for content and one or more incremental streams for the content. The incremental streams may each have higher resolutions than the base stream. The system may provide the base streams and one or more of the incremental streams to a client device based on available bandwidth and based on the capabilities of the client device. Each of the streams of content may be provided to the client device by having the client device connect to one or more multicast sessions. As the streams are accessed by the client device, the client device may combine and decode the base streams, along with any accessed incremental streams, to obtain the content at an available resolution.

摘要: A client system includes a processor configured to obtain multicast information for a content item, the multicast information including information about a multicast session for a base stream and additional multicast sessions for available incremental streams. The processor is also configured to determine an available bandwidth, and to join a set of initial multicast sessions based on the available bandwidth, the set of initial multicast sessions including the multicast session for the base stream and at least one of the additional multicast sessions for the incremental streams. The processor is also configured to monitor a network condition, and to perform an action based on the network condition, the action selected from the group consisting of joining another of the additional multicast sessions, leaving one of the initial multicast sessions, and a combination thereof.

摘要: A telecommunication network processes a telephone call from a calling party to a called party. The called party uses a wireless telephone that is associated with an MSC and has a MIN. The telecommunication network, responsive to the calling party dialing the MIN, receives the MIN at an originating switch. The network then translates the MIN to an internal routing number and routes the telephone call to a terminating switch based on the internal routing number. The terminating switch is directly connected to the MSC. The network then translates the internal routing number back to the MIN and routes the telephone call to the MSC. After the call is completed, the billing of the called party is suppressed for at least some of the telephone call air time.

摘要: A treated paper product is provided according to the invention. The treated paper product comprises a result of applying a water based emulsion to a paper base sheet to provide an impregnated paper product, and drying the impregnated paper product to a water content of less than about 8 wt. % to provide the treated paper product. The water based emulsion includes a barrier and/or release forming component comprising at least one of stearylated melamine, polyethylene wax, paraffin wax, isoparaffin wax, microcrystalline wax, fluoropolymer wax, silicone wax, alkyl ketene materials, octyl succinic anhydride, Werner chrome complex, natural wax, and mixtures thereof. The water based emulsion can have a solids content of between about 2 wt. % and about 50 wt. % when it is applied to the paper base sheet. Methods for manufacturing and using the treated paper product, and a combination food and treated paper product are provided.

摘要: A method of administering a sequence of locations to which calls placed to a subscriber's personal telephone number may be routed for personal communication service by a) storing pre-defined mnemonic audible tags for association with telephone numbers prior to any interactions with the subscriber, b) offering the subscriber a choice of the pre-defined mnemonic audible tags by speaking them to him, c) receiving an indication of the mnemonic audible tag selected by the subscriber, d) receiving signals indicating a telephone number supplied by the subscriber and e) storing the received telephone number information in association with the selected mnemonic audible tag. The mnemonic audible tags are then used in place of their respective associated telephone numbers in administering the sequence of locations. A mnemonic audible tag is a meaningful word indicative of the actual location, person, or service, e.g., "office", "neighbor" or "AT&T voicemail", to which a call to the personal telephone number is to be completed. Advantageously, administering a sequence of locations is accomplished by simply manipulating friendly, meaningful and easy to understand terms rather than cumbersome and meaningless, telephone numbers or codes.
