摘要: A plication clip comprises a first end portion; a second end portion; and a central portion connecting the first end portion to the second end portion. The first end portion is curved toward the second end portion, and the second end portion is curved toward the first end portion. The central portion has a curvilinear profile such that when the clip is deployed, a shorter length between the first end portion and the second end portion is formed. A delivery catheter and methods for deploying the plication clip are also provided.

摘要: A device is disclosed for providing an indication as to the relative position of a vessel or artery opening thereby facilitating the choice of which several closure techniques to use. A disclosed device includes an outer tube and a collapsible foot slidably disposed within a distal end of the outer tube. The device may further include one or more threaded suture needles, a biodegradable plug or other wound closing device that is connected to another shaft. The collapsed or folded foot is pushed distally out of the tube and through the opening in the vessel whereupon the foot expands. Pulling the expanded foot in the proximal direction provides an indication as to the orientation of the opening in the vessel, which assists in determining the type of closing procedure to be carried out.

摘要: The invention is direction to an alignment apparatus comprising a central sheath, an alignment sheath, and at least one stent. The central sheath and the alignment sheath each have a wall and a distal end where the wall of the alignment sheath is engaged to the wall of the central sheath. The wall of the central sheath defines a central lumen that has a central guide wire extending therethrough and the wall of the alignment sheath defines an alignment lumen that has an alignment guide wire extending therethrough. The distal end of the alignment sheath is positioned proximally to the distal end of the central sheath. The alignment apparatus has at least one stent disposed about one of the alignment guide wire or the central guide wire. The at least one stent has a pre-delivered state so that when the at least one stent is in the pre-delivered state, it is contained within at least one of the central sheath and the alignment sheath.

摘要: Stimulation energy is delivered to one or more renal artery sites in accordance with a predetermined energy delivery protocol. The stimulation energy is sufficient to elicit a physiologic response from the patient but insufficient to ablate renal nerves. Target renal artery sites that elicit a physiologic response are identified, and renal nerve tissue at or proximate the target sites is ablated.

摘要: Occluded vasculature such as occluded arterial vasculature can be recanalized using a device that is configured to penetrate an occlusion, while limiting a distance that said penetration structure can extend in order to limit inadvertent vascular damage. The device can include an elongate shaft of a guidewire and a stylet disposed within a lumen of the elongate shaft such that the stylet is selectively actuatable within the elongate shaft.

摘要: An elongated flexible medical device is inserted into a patient's body via a natural orifice, and advanced through the natural orifice to a location proximate innervated tissue that influences renal sympathetic nerve activity. The medical device can be advanced into a body organ and to a location within the organ proximate the innervated tissue. The organ may comprise an organ of the gastrointestinal tract or urinary tract. The medical device may be advanced through and beyond an access hole in a wall of the organ, and situated at a location proximate the innervated tissue. One or both of imaging and ablation energy is delivered from a distal end of the medical device to the innervated tissue. Innervated renal tissue can be ablated using various forms of energy, including RF energy, ultrasound energy, optical energy, and thermal energy.

摘要: An ablation catheter includes a flexible shaft having length sufficient to access a patient's renal artery. An electrode arrangement is provided at the distal end of the shaft. A handle unit includes a housing configured for hand-held manipulation and is coupled to the catheter. A battery and one or both of a high frequency AC generator and ultrasound generator are provided in the housing. The battery serves as the sole source of power for the generator. The generator is configured to generate energy sufficient to ablate perivascular renal nerve tissue using energy stored in the battery. The catheter may be disposable and the housing re-usable. Both the catheter and the housing may be disposable.

摘要: A catheter is configured to access a renal artery. A lumen of the catheter's shaft is dimensioned to receive a flexible actuation member which extends between the shaft's proximal and distal ends. The actuation member is moveable within the lumen and subject to elastic deformation, friction, and/or whip along its length. A flexible support member is coupled to a distal end of the actuation member and extendible beyond a distal tip of the shaft. An RF ablation electrode at a distal end of the support member is configured to ablated perivascular renal nerve tissue. A position converter at the distal end of the shaft is configured to convert movement of the actuation member into one or both of controlled rotational and axial movement of the support member and electrode to one of a multiplicity of stable circumferential positions substantially free of elastic deformation, friction, and/or whip impacting actuation member movement.
