Abstract: A display device with less light leakage and excellent contrast is provided. A display device having a high aperture ratio and including a large-capacitance capacitor is provided. A display device in which wiring delay due to parasitic capacitance is reduced is provided. A display device includes a transistor over a substrate, a pixel electrode connected to the transistor, a signal line electrically connected to the transistor, a scan line electrically connected to the transistor and intersecting with the signal line, and a common electrode overlapping with the pixel electrode and the signal line with an insulating film provided therebetween. The common electrode includes stripe regions extending in a direction intersecting with the signal line.

Abstract: A display apparatus having a photosensing function is provided. The display apparatus includes a first pixel circuit and a second pixel circuit. The first pixel circuit includes a light-receiving device, a first transistor, and a second transistor. The second pixel circuit includes a light-emitting device. The light-receiving device includes a first pixel electrode, an active layer, and a common electrode. The light-emitting device includes a second pixel electrode, a light-emitting layer, and the common electrode. The active layer is positioned over the first pixel electrode and includes a first organic compound. The light-emitting layer is positioned over the second pixel electrode and includes a second organic compound different from the first organic compound. The common electrode includes a portion overlapping with the first pixel electrode with the active layer therebetween and a portion overlapping with the second pixel electrode with the light-emitting layer therebetween. The first transistor includes low-temperature polysilicon as a semiconductor layer and the second transistor includes a metal oxide as a semiconductor layer.

The third surface is positioned between the first surface and the second surface, can be bent, and includes the third region. The fourth surface includes the fourth region. The fifth surface is positioned between the first surface and the fourth surface, can be bent, and includes the fifth region. The photoelectric conversion element faces the light-emitting element following the bending of the third surface.

Abstract: A display device having a biometric authentication function is provided. A highly convenient display device is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a light guide plate, a plurality of first light-emitting elements, a second light-emitting element, and a plurality of light-receiving elements. The light guide plate includes a first portion having a first surface and a second portion having a second surface that connects with the first surface and has a different normal direction from the first surface. Abstract: A novel liquid crystal display device without a decrease in display quality. The liquid crystal display device includes a pixel for displaying a still image at a frame frequency of less than or equal to 1 Hz, and a liquid crystal layer in the pixel has a dielectric constant anisotropy of greater than or equal to 2 and less than or equal to 5. With the above structure, a change in voltage applied to a pixel can be kept within an acceptable range of a deviation in gray level for displaying the same still image. Thus, flickers due to a low refresh rate can be reduced, which leads to an increase in display quality.

Abstract: A flicker of an FFS liquid crystal display device that is driven at a low refresh rate is reduced. In an FFS liquid crystal display, a pixel electrode and a first common electrode included in a liquid crystal element are formed on an element substrate side, and a second common electrode is formed on another substrate (counter substrate) side. By making the first and second common electrodes have the same potential, generation of a residual DC voltage can be suppressed in a pixel. Thus, even when a refresh rate is lowered, change in transmittance of a pixel can be suppressed in a data retention period, so that a flicker can be reduced.
