    摘要: The invention provides apparatus for conditioning mammalian blood for subsequent use in a medical procedure. The apparatus includes a cabinet having a secure environment and a door providing the only access to the environment. An input system is provided for transporting a blood charge from a source to the cabinet and a flask is removably contained in the secure environment and coupled to the charge input system to receive the charge. Stressors are coupled to the cabinet and positioned for operation to create a conditioned charge in the flask. An output system is coupled to the flask and includes a receiver for the conditioned charge. The apparatus includes an automated control system operable upon closing the door to lock the door and to then condition the charge, and to then cause the charge to move from the flask to the receiver. As a result, a charge from the input system is conditioned and delivered to the receiver, the door is then unlocked and the conditioned charge is ready to be removed and used to complete the medical procedure. A flask assembly is also provided for use in the apparatus and a process is also described.

    摘要: A tyre apparatus is provided, the apparatus including a tyre body for attachment to a wheel rim to define a first inflatable volume. An inner chamber defines a second inflatable volume which is located within the first inflatable volume of the tyre body. A first fluid communication path is provided between the first and second inflatable volumes and a second fluid communication path is provided between the first inflatable volume and the atmosphere. A first valve opens and closes the first fluid communication path, and a second valve opens and closes the second fluid communication path. The tensile strength and pressure-containing capacity of the material structure of the second inflatable volume is greater than that of the tyre first inflatable volume. A first fluid pressure within the first inflatable volume of the tyre body is optimisable by opening the first valve to allow pressure transfer from the second inflatable volume into the tyre body, and/or opening the second valve to allow pressure to vent from the tyre body to atmosphere. A vehicle wheel and active tyre pressure control system incorporating the tyre apparatus are also provided.

    摘要: A latch assembly includes a chassis, a latch bolt moveably mounted on the chassis and having a closed position for retaining a striker and an open position for releasing the striker, a pawl having an engaged position at which the pawl is engaged with the latch bolt to hold the latch bolt in the closed position and a disengaged position at which the pawl is disengaged from the latch bolt, thereby allowing the latch bolt to move to the open position, an eccentric arrangement defining an eccentric axis and a pawl axis remote from the eccentric axis. The eccentric arrangement is rotatable about the eccentric axis, and the pawl is rotatable about the pawl axis. When the pawl moves from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the eccentric arrangement rotates in one of a clockwise and a counter-clockwise direction about the eccentric axis. With the pawl in the engaged position, a force applied to the pawl by the latch bolt creates a turning moment on the eccentric arrangement in the one of the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction, and the eccentric arrangement is prevented from rotating in said one of the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction by a moveable abutment.
