The diffuser scatters light traveling from an entrance surface to an exit surfaces and reflection from the diffuser is substantially limited to Fresnel reflection from the entrance and exit surfaces and light exiting the exit surface is substantially non-specular.

摘要: An illustrative refrigeration unit door includes a transparent window portion that receives light from a light source such that the light exhibits total internal reflection within the window portion. A series of uniformly-sized prisms with non-uniform spacing ejects light from one face of the transparent window portion at angles around 60 degrees and 30 degrees. Collimated light can be used to reduce the amount of light ejected from a second face of the transparent window that is opposite the first face.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed including a wave-guide containing a luminescent material which responds to incident light by emitting frequency-shifted light. A first portion of the frequency-shifted light is internally reflected within the wave-guide to a wave-guide output, and a second portion of the frequency-shifted light is transmitted out of the wave-guide. The apparatus further includes a diffuse reflector positioned proximal to the waveguide to reflect at least some of the second portion of the frequency-shifted light hack in to the waveguide to be internally reflected within the wave-guide to a wave-guide output.

摘要: Various embodiments described herein comprise array of light emitting diodes and a cylindrical lens having front and rear curved surfaces. The cylindrical lens is disposed to receive light from the light emitting diodes and to redistribute the light. The cylindrical lens is located no more than about 8 inches distance from the front an illumination target, which may for example, comprise products on shelves in a refrigerator. The front and rear surfaces of the cylindrical lens are shaped to provide substantially uniform illumination across the target.

摘要: A non-intrusive thermal power monitor and method for determining the amount of sensible heat withdrawn from or added to a fluid stream flowing in a conduit by an unknown source includes a thermal power transfer device that supplies or removes a known amount of heat energy to the fluid in a conduit. First and second temperature sensors sense the temperature of the fluid stream across the thermal power transfer device, and this information is used to determine a heat capacity rate of the fluid in the fluid stream. Additional non-intrusive temperature sensors sense the temperature of the fluid stream as it passes through and across a thermal power sink or heat source and provides a temperature differential. These temperatures are processed in a control circuit, and the thermal power added to or extracted from the fluid stream is determined in the control circuit by multiplying the measured temperature differential by the heat capacity rate of the fluid stream.

摘要: A lamp assembly including one or more light emitting diode (LED) arrays and a controller circuit to output a current to the one or more LED arrays. Each LED array includes at least one LED and defines a spatial radiation pattern having a first central axis. The lamp assembly also includes a lens array to redirect light received from the one or more LED arrays, a base and a light-transmissive cover. For each one of the one or more LED arrays, the lens array includes a total internal reflection (TIR) lens defining a second central axis aligned with the first central axis of the corresponding LED array. The TIR lens is configured to distribute light received from the LED array from an output face of the TIR lens such that the distributed light defines optical paths that are convergent, divergent or collimated with respect to the second central axis. The base includes a first surface to receive the one or more LED arrays, the controller circuit and the lens array. The base also includes a second surface structured to be removably received by a lamp holder. The light-transmissive cover is attached to the base and disposed over the first surface thereof such that the one or more LED arrays, the controller circuit and the lens array are contained between the cover and the base.
