摘要: In an exhaust gas purification catalyst in which a catalytic coating containing plural kinds of aluminas and plural kinds of oxygen storage components each carrying a catalytic precious metal is coated on a honeycomb support, the catalytic coating is formed of an upper layer and a lower layer, palladium is carried on a first alumina and a Ce—Zr—La—Y-alumina compound having oxygen storage capacity in the lower layer, platinum is carried on a second alumina in the upper layer, and rhodium is carried on a third alumina and a Ce—Zr—Nd mixed oxide having oxygen storage capacity in the upper layer.

摘要: A catalyst layer includes: a first mixed oxide particle component 4 which contains Ce and Rh 8 and in which Rh is partially exposed at particle surfaces; and a second mixed oxide particle component 5 containing Ce, Zr, and a rare earth metal except Ce. The particle size distribution of the first mixed oxide particle component 4 has a peak in the particle size range from 100 nm to 300 nm, both inclusive. The particle size distribution of the second mixed oxide particle component 5 has a peak in a particle size range larger than the particle size range in which the first mixed oxide particle component 4 has the peak. At least part of particles of the first mixed oxide particle component 4 is attached to at least part of particles of the second mixed oxide particle component 5.

摘要: A catalytic matter comprises alumina particles. A compound oxide is loaded on surfaces of the alumina particles. The compound oxide contains cerium, zirconium, and lanthanum, but not aluminum. A catalytic metal is loaded on the surfaces of the alumina particles. The catalytic matter may be manufactured by preparing a first acidic solution containing aluminum, adding a first basic solution to the first acidic solution, thereby obtaining a second basic solution and precipitating a first hydroxide in the second basic solution, preparing a second acidic solution containing cerium, zirconium and lanthanum, adding the second acidic solution to the first hydroxide, thereby precipitating a second hydroxide on the first hydroxide, drying the first and second hydroxides to obtain an oxide matter, and loading a catalytic metal on the oxide matter. By loading the compound oxide containing cerium as an oxygen storage material on the alumina particle surfaces, the amount of the oxygen storage material on the surfaces of alumina particles may be increased, and the catalytic metal may loaded on or in the proximity of the oxygen storage material. Therefore, the catalytic metal may be supplied with sufficient amount of active oxygen to purify the exhaust gas.

摘要: Catalytic converter for exhaust gas purification comprises a carrier, an oxide layer positioned above the carrier and comprising a compound oxide of cerium (Ce) and magnesium (Mg) with its molar ratio of Mg/(Ce+Mg), and a catalytic metal loaded on the oxide layer. By comprising the compound oxide of cerium and magnesium in the oxide layer, higher purification performance or lower light-off temperature can be obtained under the lean exhaust gas condition during the engine startup.

摘要: An inside layer including zeolite and an outside layer including alumina and Pd are formed in a layered shape on a carrier, and Ag and Bi are simultaneously allowed to be carried on the inside and outside layers through impregnation. Thus, production of an alloy through a reaction between Pd and Ag can be suppressed by Bi.
