摘要: An upper catalyst layer of an upstream catalyst 3 and a downstream catalyst 5 includes an oxygen storage/release material in/on which a catalytic metal is included or loaded. The content of the oxygen storage/release material per 1 L of a substrate in the catalyst layer of the upstream catalyst 3 is larger than that in the catalyst layer of the downstream catalyst 5. The oxygen release amount per a unit amount of the Rh is larger than that for the upper catalyst layer of the upstream catalyst 5. At least part of the oxygen storage/release material included in the downstream catalyst shows a particle size distribution having a peak particle size smaller than that in the upstream catalyst 5.

摘要: Catalytic converter for exhaust gas purification comprises a carrier, an oxide layer positioned above the carrier and comprising a compound oxide of cerium (Ce) and magnesium (Mg) with its molar ratio of Mg/(Ce+Mg), and a catalytic metal loaded on the oxide layer. By comprising the compound oxide of cerium and magnesium in the oxide layer, higher purification performance or lower light-off temperature can be obtained under the lean exhaust gas condition during the engine startup.

摘要: An exhaust gas purification catalyst includes a catalytic layer on a carrier, in which a particle component A and a particle component B are mixed. The particle component A is composed of catalytic-metal-doped CeZr-based mixed oxide powder, and has a particle size distribution with a peak in a particle size range of equal to or greater than 100 nm and equal to or less than 300 nm. A CeO2/(CeO2+ZrO2) mass ratio of CeZr-based mixed oxide is equal to or greater than 30% and equal to or less than 75%. The particle component B is composed of at least one selected from a group consisting of activated alumina powder, Zr-based-oxide-supported alumina powder, and catalytic-metal-undoped CeZr-based mixed oxide powder. At least a part of particles of the particle component B has a particle size larger than that of the particle component A.

摘要: A filter is configured for efficient combustion of particulates accumulated on a catalyst layer 7 in both a rapid combustion range and a slow combustion range. The catalyst layer 7 on an exhaust gas passage wall of a filter 1 includes a mixture of a Rh-doped Ce-containing composite oxide particle material loaded with Pt and a composite particle material loaded with Pt. In mixed particles of this mixture, Zr-containing composite oxide particles containing no Ce and activated alumina particles are mixed together and agglomerated.

The particle component A-1 having the lower catalytic metal content is supported on a particle component B composed of Zr-based-oxide-supported alumina powder, and the particle component A-2 having the higher catalytic metal content is supported on a particle component C composed of CeZr-based mixed oxide powder in which catalytic metal is not solid-dissolved.
