Another embodiment of a non-precious metal catalyst for treating an exhaust gas stream comprises a substrate supporting a coating having more than about 6 weight percent of a lithium oxide component in combination with less than about 49 weight percent of an barium zeolite catalyst component and less than about 42 weight percent of a barium alumina catalyst component and not more than about 7 weight percent of a ceramic oxide binder.

    摘要: A gas treatment device, comprises a substrate disposed within a shell. The substrate comprises a catalyst composition comprising a support, a catalyst, and a sufficient amount of SMSI material such that, upon exposure to a gas stream (at a gas treatment device operating temperature), less than or equal to about 35 wt % of hydrocarbons in the gas stream are burned. A method for forming a gas treatment device, comprises applying a slurry to a substrate, wherein the slurry comprises a support and a sufficient amount of SMSI material such that, upon exposure to a gas stream at a gas treatment device operating temperature, greater than or equal to about 50 wt % of hydrocarbons in the gas stream are cracked to a light fraction; applying a catalyst to the substrate; calcining the catalyst; and disposing the calcined substrate into a shell, with a retention material disposed between the shell and the calcined substrate.

    摘要: A system and method for treating a combustion exhaust stream includes admitting an exhaust stream into a non-thermal plasma reactor having at least one segmented non-thermal plasma element including a plurality of individually energizable electrode segments defining a plurality of corona volumes. In a preferred embodiment, the electrode segments are progressively smaller in size in the exhaust flow direction to provide optimum plasma volume variation. Individually energizable electrodes are selectively activated to effect variable corona volumes for treating an exhaust stream. Additional reactor segments are activated only as needed, such as during periods of high exhaust flow, for efficient treatment of the exhaust stream so as to maintain optimized high space velocity in the active corona volume. The segmented elements may comprise a variety of shapes. The system and method are particularly suitable for gas pretreatment and downstream diesel particulate filter regeneration.
