A valve arrangement for ventilating and venting fuel tanks for motor vehicles which includes a vacuum valve, an excess pressure valve as well as a safety valve that interrupts the connection of the interior of the tank with the atmosphere beginning with a predetermined position of the valve arrangement deviating from the installed position. The safety valve includes a mass member displaceably arranged in the housing of the valve arrangement whose weight force is directed opposite the closing force of the excess pressure valve in the normal position of the valve arrangement and which beginning with a predetermined and subsequently continuing housing displacement acts increasingly on the valve closure member. It is assured thereby that the safety valve does not become operable already when the valve arrangement is not accurately installed or when the vehicle stands at an inclination but becomes effective only when it becomes actually necessary for safety reasons, for example, with a lateral roll-over of the vehicle caused by an accident, especially in the overturned position of a motor vehicle.

A valve device is disclosed for an aeration and air evacuation pipe leading away from a motor fuel tank. In a known valve device for aerating and evacuating air from a motor fuel tank, a positive pressure valve is provided, the closing force of which is generated by a compression spring which is braced against its valve element. This closing force generally corresponds to the positive pressure value of a water column of 300 to 400 mm. Such a positive pressure valve is therefore unsuitable for aeration and air evacuation devices in which the required positive pressure value is very low, only approximately 80 mm WG for example, for safety and functional considerations, and correct functioning of the valve element of the positive pressure valve is required to be ensured even at low temperatures. The positive pressure valve of the novel valve device fulfills these requirements, in that its valve seat is provided on a downward sloping end face of a duct, and the valve element is a weight component which rests upon the valve seat exclusively by the effect of gravity. By coordinating the characteristics of duct cross-sectional area and weight of the valve element, any desired closing force can be determined to close tolerances, while it is impossible for condensate to accumulate under the valve element, and therefore for the latter to freeze fast.

A vent arrangement for fuel tanks of motor vehicles which includes an expansion tank, with which is connected an expansion line extending horizontally in the vehicle transverse direction which includes two line sections extending in mutually opposite directions, of which one terminates in the atmosphere and prevents an outflow of fuel in the turned-over head position of the fuel tank. In order that also in special positions of the fuel tank conditioned on accidents, fuel cannot flow to the outside in non-acceptable quantities by way of the expansion line, an enlargement is provided in the line section terminating in the atmosphere in proximity of the tank side wall from which it extends away; fuel flowing out of the expansion line in a tank side position retaining the enlargement above the plane of the fuel level sucks gas out of the enlargement while the volume of the enlargement is so selected that the gas quantity present in the enlargement suffices with fuel flowing out to the outside up to the interruption of a siphoning action produced inside of the enlargement on the fuel.

A delivery-valve unit is provided on a compensating tank in the cooling circuit of an internal-combustion engine. Individual relief valves inside a receiving housing arranged horizontally in a cover of the compensating tank are additionally surrounded by valve housings which are snapped together. The sealing surfaces of the relief valves are uncoupled from the walls of the compensating tank. In the event of dimensional changes in the compensating tank, this arrangement prevents both deformations of the sealing surfaces occurring as a result of a water-level-induced pressure rise and leaks at the relief valves.

The insert also includes a valve arrangement for controlling the coolant system pressure and various conditions.

A venting arrangement for a cooling circuit of an internal combustion engine, having a vent line which connects a radiator to a top section of an expansion tank located at a higher level with regard to the top of the radiator. In order to avoid trapping of air inside the vent line, a vent valve in the form of a flap or diaphragm valve is installed at the highest point of the vent line, via which vent valve the trapped air can escape during travelling operation and during filling. By the arrangement of the vent valve inside the expansion tank, the cooling water expanding during running of the engine and discharging via the vent valve remains in the expansion tank.

The slide-in part has three radially resilient abutment zones distributed uniformly around the circumference. In order to accurately introduce the slide-in part into the hollow rod, with a minimum of force, three axial guide grooves associated with the resilient abutment zones are formed radially outwards in the inner envelope surface of the hollow rod. In order to achieve the final accurate fit, the slide-in part, introduced completely into the hollow rod, is rotated until the resilient abutment zones are located in regions between the guide grooves of the hollow rod.

An elastic support system is disclosed for a fuel system of motor vehicles of the type equipped with a mixture-compressing internal-combustion engine and an electrically driven fuel pump, a fuel filter and an accumulator, in which case at least the fuel pump is to be arranged in proximity of the tank at the underbody. A roller vane pump is used as the fuel pump which operates with heavy pulsations and therefore, in addition to its mechanically caused operating noises, also generates pulsation noises. It therefore must be disconnected or isolated from the underbody with respect to vibrations. For this purpose, it is suggested by the invention to provide, between the fuel pump and a suspension member fastened at the underbody of the motor vehicle, a connecting element that is held at the fuel pump and can be suspended at the suspension member. The connecting element consists exclusively of rubber-elastic material and at least in the area between the fuel pump and the suspension member exhibits a low spring rate. The soft development of the connecting element ensures an effective disconnection of vibrations between the fuel pump and the underbody of the motor vehicle during use of the system.
