摘要: The invention relates to a composition containing a catalyst suitable for producing ethylene and other C2+ hydrocarbons at high selectivity while improving both methane conversion and product yield. Particularly, the catalyst contains mixed metal oxides having at least one alkali earth metal and at least one rare earth metal along with an alkali metal promoter in the form of an alkali metal or in the form of an alkali metal tungstate. The invention further provides a method for preparing such a composition, using a calcination process to calcine the alkali metal promoters together with mixed metal oxides. Additionally, the invention further describes a process for producing C2+ hydrocarbons, using such a composition.

摘要: A process for producing ethylene and syngas comprising reacting, via OCM, first reactant mixture (CH4&O2) in first reaction zone comprising OCM catalyst to produce first product mixture comprising ethylene, ethane, hydrogen, CO2, CO, and unreacted methane; introducing second reactant mixture comprising first product mixture to second reaction zone excluding catalyst to produce second product mixture comprising ethylene, ethane, hydrogen, CO, CO2, and unreacted methane, wherein a common reactor comprises both the first and second reaction zones, wherein ethane of second reactant mixture undergoes cracking to ethylene, wherein CO2 of second reactant mixture undergoes hydrogenation to CO, and wherein an amount of ethylene in the second product mixture is greater than in the first product mixture; recovering methane stream, ethane stream, CO2 stream, ethylene stream, and syngas stream (CO&H2) from the second product mixture; and recycling the ethane stream and the carbon dioxide stream to second reaction zone.

摘要: A pyrolysis reactor (12) and method for the pyrolysis of hydrocarbon gases (e.g., methane) utilizes a pyrolysis reactor (12) having a unique burner assembly (44) and pyrolysis feed assembly (56) that creates an inwardly spiraling fluid flow pattern of the feed gases to form a swirling gas mixture that passes through a burner conduit (46) with a constricted neck portion or nozzle (52). At least a portion of the swirling gas mixture forms a thin, annular mixed gas flow layer immediately adjacent to the burner conduit (46). A portion of the swirling gas mixture is combusted as the swirling gas mixture passes through the burner conduit (46) and a portion of combustion products circulates in the burner assembly (44). This provides conditions suitable for pyrolysis of hydrocarbons or light alkane gas, such as methane or natural gas.

摘要: Disclosed is a process for producing C2+ hydrocarbons, and systems for implementing the process, that includes providing a reactant feed that includes methane and an oxygen containing gas to a first reaction zone, wherein the temperature of the reactant feed is less than 700° C. contacting the reactant feed with a first catalyst capable of catalyzing an oxidative coupling of methane reaction (OCM) to produce a first product stream that includes C2+ hydrocarbons and heat, and contacting the first product stream with a second catalyst capable of catalyzing an OCM reaction to produce a second product stream that includes C2+ hydrocarbons, wherein the produced heat is at least partially used to heat the first product stream prior to or during contact with the second catalyst, wherein the amount of C2+ hydrocarbons in the second product stream is greater than the amount of C2+ hydrocarbons in the first product stream.
