    摘要: A video sequence can be continuously acquired at a predetermined frame rate and resolution by an image capturing unit installed at a location. A video frame can be extracted from the video sequence when a vehicle is detected at an optimal position for license plate recognition by detecting a blob corresponding to the vehicle and a virtual line on an image plane. The video frame can be pruned to eliminate a false positive and multiple frames with respect to a similar vehicle before transmitting the frame via a network. A license plate detection/localization can be performed on the extracted video frame to identify a sub-region with respect to the video frame that are most likely to contain a license plate. A license plate recognition operation can be performed and an overall confidence assigned to the license plate recognition result.

The assembly includes at least one image capture device for acquiring images of product display units in a retail environment. A control unit acquires the images captured by the at least one image capture device at a sequence of locations of the mobile base in the retail environment. The control unit extracts product-related data from the acquired images and generates a store profile indicating locations of products and their associated tags throughout the retail environment, based on the extracted product-related data. The store profile can be used for generating new product labels for a sale in an appropriate order for a person to match to the appropriate locations in a single pass through the store.

    摘要: A system and method that includes training a classifier using uniquely defined landmark points along the windshield region based on an elastic deformation model. The deformation model uses mixtures of trees with a shared pool of parts and can be globally optimized with dynamic programming and still capture much relevant global elastic structure. Once a candidate area is identified in the scene, a learned threshold is applied to the classification score of the candidate area to determine if the candidate area is a windshield. The identified area is then cropped out for further downstream process.

    摘要: Methods, systems and processor-readable media for side window detection in near-infrared (NIR) images utilizing machine learning. An image-capturing unit can capture an image/video in a near-infrared (NIR) band via a side window of an incoming vehicle. A deformable part model can be generated utilizing a side window detection and B-frame detection in order to obtain a set of candidate side-windows. Side window detection can be performed based on a mixture of a tree model and a shared pool and can be globally optimized with dynamic programming and still-capture to detect the backseat side window boundary utilizing a B-pillar. A false alarm with respect to the deformable part model can be removed utilizing a super pixel generation and a longest-line detection unit in order to generate a refined deformable part model.

    摘要: Methods, systems and processor-readable media for providing a license plate overlay decal with an infrared readable annotation mark for an optical character recognition and segmentation. The annotation mark with respect to character image of a license plate can be designed by training an ALPR engine to improve automatic license plate recognition performance. A plate overlay decal can be rendered with the annotation mark and attached to a license plate. The annotation mark can also be directly placed on the license plate when the license plate is rendered. The annotation mark is visible when illuminated by an infrared light and the license plate appears normal in visible light. The annotation mark enables an ALPR imaging system to obtain more information for each character and utilize the information to improve conclusion accuracy.

    摘要: Methods and systems for selecting a target vehicle for occupancy detection utilizing vehicle identification information. The vehicle identification information (e.g., license plate information) can be obtained from a vehicle identification unit (e.g., ALPR) to identify a vehicle approaching a high occupancy measurement zone. The vehicle identification information from the vehicle identification unit can be transferred to a vehicle occupancy unit having a flash illuminator unit and an image-capturing unit. The flash illuminator unit and the image-capturing unit are not enabled if the vehicle's occupancy state has already been measured at a prior location based on the vehicle identification information. The vehicle occupancy detection unit and the vehicle identification unit work together in a coordinated fashion to reduce the number of times the flash illuminator unit needs to fire and extends the life of the illuminator unit, thus reducing the cost of maintenance.
