    摘要: A gas discharge panel having (i) a plurality of cells arranged in a matrix between a pair of opposing substrates, the cells being filled with a discharge gas, and (ii) plural pairs of display electrodes arranged on a surface of one of the substrates so as to extend through the plurality of cells, each pair of display electrodes being composed of a sustain electrode and a scan electrode that define a main discharge gap therebetween. In such a gas discharge panel, each sustain electrode and scan electrode includes a plurality of line parts that extend in a row direction of the matrix. Furthermore, the main discharge gap and a line part gap between adjacent line parts are provided such that a discharge current waveform of the display electrodes has a single peak when the gas discharge panel is driven.

    摘要: A method for displaying an image with gradation and a high brightness with a plasma display panel is provided. In this method, one field is divided into eight subfields, and each subfield is divided into an addressing period and sustaining period. In the upper four bits b4, b5, b6, and b7, in which the sustaining period is long, all of the scanning electrodes are scanned sequentially. In the lower four bits b0, b1, b2 and b3, in which the sustaining period is short, the scanning electrodes are scanned alternately by interlace scanning.

    摘要: The object of the present invention is to provide a method of driving of an AC type plasma display panel with higher emitting efficiency without increasing the external-sustain voltage VSUS, even if the discharge sustain gap dp is extended. An AC type plasma display panel according to the present invention comprises a first and second substrates arranged opposite to each other. The first substrate includes a plurality pairs of a first and second electrodes extending parallel each other, and a dielectric layer covering thereon. The second substrate includes a plurality of third electrodes extending in a direction crossing the first and second electrodes, and a plurality of partition walls between each third electrode. A method of the panel according to the present invention comprises applying a voltage so that the discharge generated in the first opposing discharge space progresses towards a second opposing discharge space and extends along the third electrode. Therefore, the positive column discharge can be achieved so that the high emission efficiency can be realized.

    摘要: A high-capacity, high-definition plasma display panel capable of providing a high-quality image has an image display area 16 within which pairs of sustaining electrodes and pairs of scanning electrodes are disposed in an alternating fashion with each other. Each pair of the sustaining electrodes are connected at their opposite ends with each other and, similarly, each pair of the scanning electrodes are connected at their opposite ends with each other. A unitary pixel is defined at an intersection between one of data electrodes 8 and a group including a pair of the scanning electrode, one of pair of the sustaining electrodes adjacent such pair of the scanning electrodes and one of the next succeeding pair of the sustaining electrodes adjacent such pair of the scanning electrodes.
