    摘要: A heavy duty low-section pneumatic and a process for manufacturing the same are disclosed. This tire comprises a radial carcass toroidally extending between bead portions, a belt composed of a first and second belt layers successively superimposed around a crown portion of the carcass and a tread rubber having substantially the same width as the maximum width of the belt. In the belt, the first belt layer is composed of at least two cord plies each containing cords inclined at a small angle with respect to the equatorial plane of the tire, the cords of which being crossed with each other with respect to the equatorial plane, while the second belt layer is composed of at least one cord ply containing non-expansible or hardly expansible cords arranged in substantially parallel to the equatorial plane and extends over both sides of the first belt layer between the first belt layer and the carcass.

    摘要: A pneumatic radial tire is adapted to improve or reduce the rolling resistance and simultaneously to improve the steering stability and riding comfortability against vibration during running without adversely affecting the wet performance and durability by making higher the carcass maximum width position and the carcass curvature reverse position, or enlarging the curvature of the carcass in the radially outer zone of the carcass maximum width position and simultaneously the carcass curvature reverse extent in the radially inner zone of the sidewalls so as to intentionally deviate from the naturally equilibrated configuration.A method of manufacturing a reduced rolling resistance pneumatic radial tire uses a mold for vulcanizing and forming the tire therein, which mold has a particular shape of cavity having a foot width 20-50% wider than a rim width and diverging progressively from shoulder corresponding portions to the wider foot portion of the cavity.

    摘要: A porous ceramic article comprising a porous ceramic body having a three-dimensional network of strands defining interconnected cells is characterized in that at least one compound selected from the group consisting of nitrides, carbides, borides and silicides of metals is dispersed in or deposited on the strands of the porous ceramic body, and the porous ceramic body has a bulk specific gravity of 0.25 to 0.6, an average pore diameter of 0.3 to 10 mm, a porosity of 75 to 95%, and an air pressure drop of 0.1 to 30 mm in water gauge when air passes through the porous ceramic body over a thickness of 1 cm at a velocity of 1 m/sec. The porous ceramic body has improved thermal properties. When needle-like crystals are dispersed in the porous ceramic body, creep resistance and strength at high temperature are both improved.

    摘要: An earthquake-insulating bearing assembly is mounted between a foundation and a building structure. A first friction member is fixedly secured to a lower surface of the building structure. An elastic bearing is interposed between and fixed relative to an upper surface of the foundation and the lower surface of the building structure. A guide means is vertically mounted on the upper surface of the foundation. A second friction member of an annular shape is disposed around the elastic bearing and is engaged with the guide means for vertical movement therealong. An urging means is fixed relative to the upper surface of the foundation for urging the second friction member into frictional engagement with the first friction member under a selected load. The urging means comprises means for adjusting the load applied to the second friction member.

    摘要: A method of making a mold which is utilized to manufacture a tire, the mold having a contour curved surface with broad bone portions and narrow blade portions extending therefrom, comprises a first machining stage utilizing a plurality of electrical discharge machining electrodes for approaching a workpiece used to make the mold, at different angles. Each of the electrodes used in the first machining stage are shaped to avoid the removal of excessive metal from the mold so that both the bone portions and the blade portions can extend normally from the contour curved surface. The method includes a second machining stage utilizing a further electrical discharge machining electrode which has recesses for receiving bone portions and blade portions formed by the first stage electrodes, and is movable laterally of the contour surface to form well-defined edges of the bone and blade portions.
