摘要： To prevent a part of excretions having missed an opening formed in a skin-contacting topsheet 14 of a disposable diaper from diffusively flowing over the top surface of this topsheet 14, the opening 16 is provided along the laterally opposite sides thereof with a pair of first flaps 17 opposed to and spaced from each other by a relatively small distance and a pair of second flaps 18 similarly opposed to and spaced from each other by a relatively large distance so that the part of excretions having missed the opening 16 defined by the laterally opposite side edges of the first flaps 17 may be reliably dammed by the second flaps 18 and thereby the diffusive flowing of excretion may be avoided.

摘要： The perforations in a film-faced wound dressing have been discovered to have edges which, though clearly defined, lack the ability to cut the neoepithelium of a healing wound, with the result that the film affords an unexpectedly high degree of comfort during movement of the patient- and most particularly, when the dressing is changed. This occurs in a thin, soft, self-supporting elastomeric film, such as a polyether polyurethane (PPU) film, having less than 10% crystallinity. The film provides a degree of conformability not attained heretofore; has a softness and elastomeric quality which results in reduced shear associated with the edges of its perforations as compared with the sharp cutting edges of perforations in plastic film; has excellent releaase characteristics enhanced by less than 25% open area (due to perforations) which minimizes the open area into which the neoepithelium may grow.

摘要： A non-medicated dressing having a non-adherent permeable outer casing and a multi-strata absorbent interior composition. The outer casing of the dressing includes a skin contacting layer formed of superimposed strata of perforated high density polyethylene film. An exterior layer of the casing includes a lamination of permeable polyethylene film and a layer of absorptive material, the combination having a density and thickness specifications which maintain the structural integrity of the dressing. The dressing has a soft and cushioned exterior finish which conforms to the body contour. The dressing is manufactured in accordance wtih a method which employs a combined cutting and ultrasonic sealing apparatus.

The flap valves may be arranged in a regular rectangular array and each flap of a valve is defined by three cuts in the sheet material, the cuts constituting three sides of a rectangle so that the flap of the valve can pivot out of the plane of the sheet material generally about a notional axis formed by the fourth side of the rectangle.

摘要： A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may comprise a tissue interface comprising a three-dimensional textile of polyester fibers and a polymer coating on the polyester fibers. In some examples, the three-dimensional textile may be a three-dimensional weave of polyester fibers, and the polymer coating may be hydrophobic. In more particular embodiments, the polymer coating may be silicone or polyethylene, for example. The dressing may additionally include a drape disposed over the tissue interface and a port fluidly coupled to the tissue interface through the drape. The tissue interface may be applied over a tissue site, and therapeutic levels of negative pressure may be applied to the tissue site through the tissue interface.
