摘要: A laryngeal mask includes an airway tube having an inner lumen and a distal end; and a mask portion connected at a proximal end thereof to the distal end of the airway tube and having a distal tip opposite the proximal end. The mask portion includes an inflatable cuff including an anterior cuff surface, and a wedge portion including a stabilization surface and two walls connected to the inflatable cuff and extending toward from the stabilization surface, the stabilization surface extending from the distal tip of the mask portion toward the distal end of the airway tube at a wedge angle of between about 12 and 30 degrees, the wedge angle formed between the stabilization surface and the anterior cuff surface when the inflatable mask is inflated. The stabilization surface is transversely and longitudinally substantially flat to stabilize the laryngeal mask in use.

摘要: A system for measuring cardiovascular data includes an elongate member having a channel, a first expandable member carried by the elongate member and movable between a collapsed state and an expanded state by adjustment initiated externally of a subject, a first sensor disposed on a surface of the elongate member, second and third sensors disposed on a surface of the first expandable, a first optical sensor located at a first location in relation to the distal end of the elongate member and configured for obtaining photoplethsmographic data, and wherein the first expandable member in its expanded state is configured to interface with the subject's larynx for delivery of at least oxygen gas into the respiratory system of the subject, and the second and third sensors are configured to contact tissue in proximity to the larynx when the first expandable member is in its expanded state.

摘要: A method and system for an endotracheal tube or tracheostomy a tube formed with a hole, a cuff connected to the tube and formed around the hole, and a skirt connected to the tube above the cuff and draped over the cuff. A coating of a hydrophobic, lipophobic, and oleophobic substance can be disposed on the interior and exterior surface of the tube, the cuff, and the skirt. A stylet and siring may be used to secure the skirt during in-sertion in a detachable fashion. The string is retractable on withdrawal of the stylet.

The remote-control device includes an electronic record (ER) client to make a wireless connection with each of the private networks and to query ER database associated with the private networks for electronic records residing within the private networks.

摘要: Devices and methods for preventing tracheal aspiration as described where a cuff assembly having an inflatable member with an inflation tube fluidly coupled may be placed over a proximal end of an endotracheal tube or laryngeal mask and inserted into the patient trachea with the endotracheal tube or separately after the endotracheal tube has already been positioned. In either case, the inflatable member may be positioned distal (or inferior) to the vocal cords and proximal to the endotracheal balloon via a delivery instrument which automatically positions the balloon in proximity to the vocal cords.

摘要: A camera tube used in connection with a laryngeal mask cooperates with an intubation stylet. The camera tube is an elongate member having a length extending between opposite distal and proximal ends of the elongate member. The distal end of the camera tube has a camera. The camera tube has an exterior surface and an intubation stylet guide support surface extending radially outward from the exterior surface along a portion of the length adjacent to the distal end. The intubation stylet guide support surface is configured to cooperate with an intubation stylet guide support surface. The user may manipulate the proximal end of the camera tube to change the orientation of the intubation stylet with in the laryngeal mask while using the camera to visualize the patient's laryngeal opening. Once the intubation stylet is aligned with the patient's laryngeal opening, the intubation stylet may be advanced therethrough.

摘要: A larynx mask is provided that comprises a dorsal cover plate with an inflatable cuff integrally formed thereon and a tube connecting connector having an insertion section for connecting to an insertion tube. Two separate lumens are provided in the region of the insertion section, these being the esophageal lumen and a respiration lumen. These two lumens are separated from each other by a separating and supporting, wall. The separating and supporting wall extends from the insertion section to the tip of the larynx mask. While the esophageal lumen opens into an esophageal outlet at the proximal end of the mask, the respiration lumen opens in the ventral direction and is closed in the proximal direction close to the tip of the mask. Such a larynx mask is produced in one piece by way of injection of molding and is reinforced by the separating or supporting wall to prevent kinking.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus and a corresponding method for intubating a human or non-human animal patient. In some embodiments, the present invention is used in the field of anesthesia and emergency medicine. In some embodiments, the present invention provides an intubation tube that includes an integrated Blaine Bafflex System having a plurality of blaines for sealing the trachea, wherein the intubation tube is formed from a single material. In some embodiments, the shape and outer circumference of each blaine of the system is selected according to the desired use of the intubation tube (e.g., for intubating a pediatric patient or an adult patient or for intubating a small animal or a large animal). In some embodiments, the distance between successive blaines is selected such that, when the intubation tube is inserted into the patient and the blaines bend, none of the blaines overlap with their nearest neighbor.

摘要: Thus far, it has not been possible to produce laryngeal masks having a supraglottic tube as a one-piece unit. If the supraglottic tube (2) is provided with three lumens (4, 5, 6), the center one (6) of which has no passage to the respiration room (10), the invention provides a solution. The invention proposes that the center guide lumen is provided with a longitudinal slit (8) extending from the distal end (9) to the laryngeal mask head (3). Thus, a connecting web can be attached between the two cores or sliders forming the lumens, generating the desired stability in order to maintain the pressing power tool state without deformation.
