The resilient calendaring roll has an average roll surface roughness of about 0.5 μm to about 0.9 μm. A nip pressure between the calendaring rolls is about 100 kPa to about 2,000 kPa. The film has an average film surface roughness of about 0.5 μm to about 0.9 μm, a gloss of less than or equal to about 10, an average stress of less than or equal to about 60 nm, and a stress spread of less than or equal to about 50.

摘要： First and second virgin polymers, not normally miscible when combined in one or more conventional melt-processing means, are combined in a known melt-processing means having mechanical vibration, referred to as a TekFlow® “processor” in which the polymers are extensively shear-thinned, substantially disentangled and stress-fatigued. A process in which melts of each virgin polymer are separately modified, mixed and melt-processed in a conventional extruder, is also effective if the melt of one polymer, modified in a processor, is mixed with virgin melt before being modified in another processor. In each embodiment, the resulting blend is unexpectedly found to be a single phase, that is, a miscible blend.

At least one cooling device is provided in a section of the worm cylinder adjoining the inlet opening. An active heat barrier is provided in the region of the feed throat and includes electrically controllable means for heat dissipation. This increases the efficiency of the cooling process, reduces the operating costs and increases the operational reliability of the worm extruder.
