Abstract:
A bioinert piping (1) that has a flow path (2) provided inside and a main body portion (10) between end portions (8, 8) includes a resin tube (4) that forms an inner wall of the flow path (2) over an entire length of the flow path (2), and a metal tube (6) that accommodates the resin tube (4) inside so as to cover the outer peripheral surface of the resin tube (4) over at least an entire length of the main body portion (10). The metal tube (6) is plastically deformed toward an inner side so that the outer peripheral surface of the resin tube (4) and an inner peripheral surface of the metal tube (6) are in liquid-tight contact with each other.

A steam generator for use with a liner assembly for pipeline repair or reinforcement, includes: a water heater configured to heat water to generate steam; a water feed conduit configured to convey water to the water heater; an air heater configured to generate heated air; an air supply conduit configured to convey pressurized air to the air heater; a heated air supply conduit configured to convey heated air from the air heater to the water heater to yield a steam-air mixture; and an output conduit configured to convey the steam-air mixture from the water heater. An automated steam generator system including the steam generator is also described.
Abstract:
An expander of a tubular assembly having a tubular covering element inserted into a tubular element includes a tip for pushing a first internal wall of the tubular covering element towards a second internal wall of the tubular element so as to enable the adhesion of a first external wall of the tubular covering element to the second internal wall. The expander includes a rotary joint sliding along a first longitudinal axis, to which the tip is coupled so as to arrange the tip radially and enable it to rotate around the first axis. The expander further includes a sensor operatively connected to the tip to detect a radial displacement of the tip owing to a current thrust exerted by the tip, and a logic control unit operatively connected to the sensor and the tip to adjust a future thrust as a function of the radial displacement.
Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a lining composition which overcomes the problems such as environmental problems (e.g. marine pollution) and VOC problem and which has a good cure rate. We have found that this can be achieved by a composition containing a vinyl ester resin as a prepolymer component and an aliphatic or alicyclic polyfunctional allyl ester compound as a crosslinking agent.
Abstract:
An elongate hollow structure and method of constructing the hollow structure is described, whereby the hollow structure includes a radially inner portion and a radially outer portion adapted to be merged together to form a tubular wall structure. The method includes providing the radially inner portion, providing the radially outer portion about the radially inner portion, wherein a space exists between the radially inner and outer portions, the space containing a gas therein, and expanding the inner portion. The gas within the space between the inner and outer portions is arranged to be expelled as the inner portion is expanded
Abstract:
The invention provides a producing method for a transfer belt for image forming apparatus of forming a binder layer for example of THV on a surface layer of PTFE or PFA to form a first composite member, forming an elastic layer for example of urethane on a base layer of PI, PAI or PVDF to form a second composite member, and then heating fusing the first composite member and the second composite member, a transfer belt for image forming apparatus produced by the producing method, and a producing apparatus for a transfer belt for image forming apparatus to be used in the producing method.
Abstract:
A method of affixing a material on a substrate to the inner surface of a bore tube of magnets for a superconducting supercollider includes the steps of bonding a gas-absorbing material to a thin metallic substrate and forming the substrate and the material into a partly tubular configuration having an inner surface and an outer surface, the material being on the inner surface. The partly tubular configuration is shaped in a manner whereby the partly tubular configuration is expandable in diameter. The partly tubular configuration is inserted coaxially into the tube with the outer surface of the partly tubular configuration in proximity with the inner surface of the tube. Hoop compressor stress is applied to the inner surface of the partly tubular configuration, thereby forcing the partly tubular configuration against the inner surface of the tube. The bore tube is maintained at cryogenic temperature.
Abstract:
A thin, flexible tubular membrane provides a heat containment tube for inserting into and inflation within an underground conduit to be repaired. Folded rigid thermoplastic pipe is inserted into the tube while not and flexible. The tubular membrane is pressurized to exclude unwanted fluids from within the existing conduit. Hot steam is injected into the tube to heat the pipe full-length externally and internally until flexible. The pipe is then rounded and expanded against the walls of the conduit with the tube therebetween. The rounding and expanding of the pipe is carried out progressively by moving a plug through the pipe and by injecting hot steam under pressure behind the plug.
Abstract:
A process for installing a liner in a generally horizontal pipe section includes the steps of: providing a hollow generally cylindrical folded pipe liner; pulling the folded liner through the pipe section leaving end sections of the liner extending from the upstream end and the downstream end of the pipe; pulling an air hose and a steam hose through the folded liner from the downstream end to the upstream end; providing a floating plug assembly including at least two disk shaped expanders; attaching the steam hose to the floating plug assembly downstream of the disk shaped expanders; attaching the air hose to the floating plug assembly upstream of the disk shaped expanders; inserting the floating plug assembly into the liner at the upstream end; and providing steam to the steam hose and cooling air to the air hose, while pulling the floating plug assembly through the liner to progressively heat the liner to a softening point downstream of the disk shaped expanders, and expand the liner to fill the pipe and cool the expanding liner upstream of the disk shaped expanders.
Abstract:
A method for protecting conduits in which a tube produced by helically winding a strip and interconnecting the edges of the strip to allow longitudinal slip is placed adjacent the area to be lined or overlapped. The tube is held at a selected diameter during placement and a winding force is applied by expander means driven along the tube to cause the interconnected edges to slip progressively change the diameter of the tube to engage the conduit. The progressive change may be caused by continuing the step of winding.
