摘要: A method for chemically reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) with a red mud catalyst composition is provided includes introducing a gaseous mixture of CO2 and H2 into a reactor containing particles of the red mud catalyst composition. The method further includes reacting at least a portion of the CO2 and H2 in the gaseous mixture in the presence of the red mud catalyst composition at a temperature of 200 to 800° C., and under a pressure ranging from 5 to 100 bar to form a gaseous product including a chemical reduction product of the CO2. A volume ratio of the CO2 to the H2 in the gaseous mixture is in a range of 1:10 to 10:1.

摘要: A subject matter of the invention is a process for the hydrotreating of a hydrocarbon feedstock having a distillation range of between 150° C. and 600° C., so as to obtain a hydrotreated effluent, said process comprising the following stages:
a) said hydrocarbon feedstock is brought into contact, in the presence of hydrogen, with at least one first catalyst occupying a volume V1 and comprising a support based on alumina or silica or silica-alumina and an active phase consisting of nickel and molybdenum,
b) the effluent obtained in stage a) is brought into contact, in the presence of hydrogen, with at least one second catalyst occupying a volume V2 and comprising a support based on alumina or silica or silica-alumina and an active phase consisting of nickel, molybdenum and tungsten, and phosphorus,
the distribution of the volumes V1/V2 being of between 50% vol/50% vol and 90% vol/10% vol respectively.-

Furthermore, the present invention relates to a process for the production of a supported tantalum catalyst, and the supported tantalum catalyst. Finally, the invention relates to the use of the supported tantalum catalyst for the production of 1,3-butadiene from a feed comprising ethanol and acetaldehyde to increase one or both of selectivity and yield of the reaction.

摘要: A catalyst includes a support, where the support includes an external surface, about 60 wt % to about 99 wt % silica, and about 1.0 wt % to about 5.0 wt % alumina. A catalytic layer is disposed within the support adjacent to the external surface, where the catalytic layer further includes Pd, Au, and potassium acetate (KOAc). In the catalyst, (a) the KOAc is from about 60 kg/m3 to about 150 kg/m3 of the catalyst; or (b) the catalytic layer has an average thickness from about 50 μm to about 150 μm; or (c) both (a) and (b). The catalyst also possesses a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of about 130 m2/g to about 300 m2/g and a geometric surface area per packed bed volume from about 550 m2/m3 to about 1500 m2/m3. The catalyst is highly active for the synthesis of vinyl acetate monomer and exhibits a high selectivity for vinyl acetate monomer.

摘要: A method for making a supported tantalum oxide catalyst precursor or catalyst with controlled Ta distribution and the resulting supported Ta catalyst. In an embodiment, the method comprises selecting a Ta-precursor with appropriate reactivity with the surface hydroxyls of the solid oxide support material to give a desired Ta distribution in the catalyst precursor or catalyst. In an embodiment the method comprises controlling the number of surface hydroxyls available on the support material to react with the Ta-precursor by thermal methods, such as calcination, to achieve the desired Ta distribution.

摘要: Catalyst particles comprising one or more active metal components and methods for manufacturing such catalyst particles are provided. The particles are a composite of a granulating agent or binder material such as an inorganic oxide, and an ultra-stable Y (hereafter “USY”) zeolite in which some of the aluminum atoms in the framework are substituted with zirconium atoms and/or titanium atoms and/or hafnium atoms. The one or more active phase components are incorporated prior to mixing the binder with the post-framework modified USY zeolite, extruding the resulting composite mixture, and forming the catalyst particles. The one or more active phase components are incorporated in the post-framework modified USY zeolite prior to forming the catalyst particles.
