    摘要: A method to process exhaust gas expelled from at least one cylinder of a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine, the method comprising providing an internal combustion engine, wherein the engine comprises a steam hydrocarbon reformer including a steam reformation catalyst, treating exhaust gas of the engine containing hydrocarbon and water by reacting the hydrocarbon and water in the presence of the steam reformation catalyst in the steam hydrocarbon reformer to provide treated exhaust gas. The treated exhaust gas includes carbon monoxide gas and hydrogen gas produced from the reaction, and mixing the treated exhaust gas, including the carbon monoxide gas and hydrogen gas produced in the steam hydrocarbon reformer with air to provide the mixture of air and treated exhaust gas introduced into the cylinders of the engine.

    摘要: In a method for producing a cellular wheel made of metal, the following steps are conducted consecutively: (a) providing a sheet metal strip (26) having a length (1) that corresponds at least to the length of a circumferential line of an intermediate sleeve and a width (b) that corresponds at least to the length of the cellular wheel; (b) placing disks (16) in predetermined locations in predetermined quantities on both sides of the sheet metal strip (26) perpendicular to the sheet metal surface and perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sheet metal strip (26) and connecting the disks (16) to the sheet metal strip (26) by welding or brazing; (c) bending the metal strip (26) equipped on both sides with the disks (16) and connecting the two ends of the sheet metal strip (26) by welding or brazing to form the intermediate sleeve; (d) placing a first tubular sleeve that is concentric to the intermediate sleeve as an outer sleeve, and a second tubular sleeve that is concentric to the intermediate sleeve as an inner sleeve, and connecting the free ends of the disks (16) to the outer sleeve or the inner sleeve by welding or brazing. The method allows cellular wheels to be produced which have material wall thicknesses of 0.2 mm and less for use in pressure wave superchargers.

    摘要: A closed loop control system for an exhaust gas recovery flow in an internal combustion engine having an intake air pressurizing device is provided. The closed loop control system includes an engine controller connected to an intake air mass flow sensor, an engine operation sensor, and an intake air throttle valve for controlling the intake air mass flow rate. In addition, the controller is operatively connected to a variable gas pocket valve for selectively controlling exhaust gas feedback in conjunction with the intake air throttle valve. The variable gas pocket valve and the intake air throttle valve may be actuated in response to the control system parameters to provide accurate control of exhaust gas recovery flow to provide reduced emissions of unburned fuel and particulate matter from the engine.

Consequently, the energy level of the low-energy scavenging air can be increased, which improves the compression efficiency of the pressure-wave supercharger.

    摘要: In an internal combustion engine supercharged by a pressure-wave supercharger (2), a lambda probe (7) is used for measurement of the oxygen content in the circuit. The oxygen content determined by the lambda probe (7) creates a measuring signal (9), which is used for controlling the throttle valve (4) and/or the starting valve (6). This control is aimed at reducing the NO.sub.x emissions from the combustion and possibly ensuring the regeneration of an exhaust gas particle filter (3) integrated in the circuit. In this arrangement, the lambda probe (7) is to be placed in the low-pressure exhaust gas line (444), which has a positive effect on the response capability and the accuracy of the measured data of the probe (7). This obviates the need for additional aids for the correction of pressure fluctuations such as occur at other points in the circuit of the internal combustion engine.
