Abstract: A transmission device for a planetary gear train multi-gear hybrid vehicle and a transmission method therefore are provided. An input end of an input shaft is connected to an engine, an output end of the input shaft is connected to a front-end motor through a first planetary gear train, and the input shaft is connected to an output shaft through a first clutch. The output shaft is connected to a third planetary gear train, the third planetary gear train is connected to a second clutch and a second planetary gear train, and the second clutch and the second planetary gear train are both connected to a third clutch. The second planetary gear train is connected to a rear-end motor.

Abstract: A continuously-variable transmission (CVT) has: a gearbox having a first planetary gear train, a second planetary gear train, a first rotating spool defined by one of two sun gears, two ring gears, and two carriers of the first and second planetary gear train, a second rotating spool defined by another one of the two sun gears, the two ring gears, and the two carriers, an input defined by a remaining one of the first sun gear, the first carrier, and the first ring gear, and an output defined by a remaining one of the second sun gear, the second carrier, and the second ring gear; a first brake operatively connected to the first rotating spool; a second brake operatively connected to the second rotating spool; and a transmission motor drivingly engaged to the first rotating spool or to the second rotating spool.

Abstract: A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. A controller controls the shift actuator utilizing an actuating pulse and an opposing pulse.

Abstract: A drive system (21), for use in a washing machine (10), that includes a motor (23) and a planetary gearbox (26) having an outer casing (29) rotatably mounted by bearings (31A and 31B) between a tub (13) of the washing machine and the motor. A clutch (38) is selectively operable to engage the gears in a first mode to connect an input shaft (25) to drive at least a first output shaft (15) without speed reduction and, in a second mode, to drive the first output shaft at a controlled and reduced speed in one direction while simultaneously driving a second output shaft (18) at a second controlled and reduced speed the opposite rotational direction. The first gearbox output shaft (15) and the outer casing (29) are permanently rotationally fixed together in both first and second modes.

The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift control circuit operates a shift actuator using a first opposing pulse command and a first actuating pulse command, and releases pressure with shift actuating and opposing volumes of the shift actuator upon determining a shift completion event.

Abstract: A motor vehicle transmission having a housing, input and output shafts, shifting elements, a first planetary gearset having sun, ring and planet gears and a carrier and a second planetary gearset having planet gears and carriers that are rigidly coupled. The carriers of the first and the second gearsets are fixed, respectively, to the output and input shafts. A sun gear of the second gearset can be connected by a first shifting element to the housing and by a second shifting element to the input shaft. The ring gear of the first gearset can be connected by a third shifting element to the housing and by a fourth shifting element to the carrier of the first planetary gearset. The sun gear of the first gearset and ring gear of the second gearset are rigidly coupled, and the shifting elements are arranged in the housing and are accessible from the outside.
