Abstract: A system and method for controlling the temperature and pressure within a propellant tank containing cryogenic liquid and gaseous phase propellants, the latter also referred to as ullage, by adding an atomized fluid or mixture of fluids having one or more constituent parts to the ullage, where the atomized fluid(s) has a temperature less than the temperature of the ullage. The motive fluid may include a condensable constituent which aids in reducing pressure in the tank or a incondensable constituent which aides in maintaining pressure in the tank.

Abstract: A pressure vessel assembly includes a vessel including a wall defining a chamber and a circumferentially continuous lip projecting into the chamber from the wall. The lip defines a through-bore in fluid communication with the chamber. A nozzle assembly including a tube and a flange projecting radially outward from the tube. The tube includes a first portion projecting from the flange and through the through-bore and an opposite second portion projecting outward from the flange. The flange is in contact with the wall and the first portion includes an outer surface having a contour configured to produce sealing friction between the lip and the outer surface.

Abstract: A high-pressure gas container (100) includes an inner layer (11) configured such that high-pressure gas is filled inside, a boss part (13-1, 13-2) provided at least at one position of the inner layer and configured to cause the gas to flow in and out, and an outer layer (12) configured to cover an outer periphery of the inner layer to reinforce the inner layer and having a higher gas barrier property than the inner layer. A gas discharge port (15-1, 15-2) is provided between the boss part and the outer layer, and a gas ventilation part (14) is formed between the inner layer and the outer layer such that the gas having permeated through the inner layer is discharged into atmosphere through the gas discharge port.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for reducing the natural evaporation rate of an LNG storage tank. The method for reducing the natural evaporation rate of an LNG storage tank comprises the steps of: manufacturing an LNG storage tank including a primary insulation layer and a secondary insulation layer; connecting one end of a second vacuum hose to the secondary insulation layer; connecting the other end of the second vacuum hose to a vacuum pump; and actuating the vacuum pump so as to lower the internal pressure of the secondary insulation layer. The method enables the inside of the secondary insulation layer to be a vacuum, and thus lowers the moisture content of plywood included in the secondary insulation layer.
