A flux monitor high light intensity cut-off circuit for a night vision device which includes a photo detector and an integrator. Incident light striking the photo detector causes its resistance to change, resulting in a voltage change at the photo detector. As long as the photo detector voltage is below a first threshold voltage level, the integrator is inoperative. When the voltage at the photo detector exceeds the first threshold voltage level, this voltage is then applied to the input of the integrator. The integrator then produces an output voltage proportional to the integral of the input current. Once the output voltage of the integrator reaches a second threshold voltage, power to an image intensifier assembly within the night vision device is interrupted.

An apparatus for imaging and analyzing particle components in a sample liquid flow containing particle components such as blood and urine, or fine particles of organic high polymer in suspension or the like. A conventional particle imaging flow cytometer is combined with a light source such as a lamp with small coherence, and an image intensifier with gate function of high response, so that a clear particle image without a deflection or interference fringe is obtained. Thus, in the apparatus having the still imaging function, by using the image intensifier with a high speed gate function, even with a light source of a long luminous time such as a lamp, a clear still image of a particle flowing at high speed is obtained.

The present invention also includes pulse means for causing the excitement means to periodically excite fluorescent emissions from the insulating liquids and control means for controlling the intensification means to intensify only during periods of fluorescent excitation.

A spectrofluorometry apparatus utilizes dual wavelengths. The dual wavelengths are produced using different wavelength filters and a rotating reflective disk that direct the light to each of the respective filters. The reflective disk contains a notch that allows light to pass through it and two reflective surfaces that reflect light. As the disk rotates, the light is appropriately distributed to the respective filters. The rotation of the reflective disk is synchronized to a video camera that is used to image fluorescence. The camera is designed so that each of the wavelengths are giving alternating video frames.
