The device includes an anti-noise circuit system, a radio am/fm circuit system, and a sound collection system for receiving an external sound. The structure is wireless with a microphone and associated cables contained in the headphone headband. The microphone is provided to receive an external noise signal, and the device then generates a nullifying out of phase signal. The device uses a sound collection device to receive an external signal and an am/fm radio is also provided, all of which sound through the ear speakers on the headphone.

    摘要: A device for performing electroacoustic functions including noise cancellation, communication interface, and headphone functions. The device includes a composite transducer which is connected to a control unit. The composite transducer, which is adapted for use with the human ear, includes at least three transducers, oriented to be substantially coplanar to each other: two oppositely oriented input transducers for converting acoustic waves into electrical signals, and at least one output transducer oriented facing the ear for converting electrical signals into acoustic waves. The control unit includes circuitry for driving the output transducer based on electrical signals from the input transducers with an amplitude and phase to perform the noise cancellation, sound filtering, communication interface, and headphone functions. The input transducer which is oriented facing the ear picks up residual noise present in the ear canal which was not cancelled by the first input transducer to output transducer signal path due to non-ideal frequency and amplitude characteristics. The second input transducer supplies an electrical signal corresponding to the residual noise to the control circuitry to cancel the residual noise. Additionally, the path of acoustic energy from a noise source, through the composite transducer, and to the ear canal can be lengthened by the addition of a baffle around which the acoustic energy must travel.

    摘要: An electrically active sound wave attenuation apparatus mounted in an upright, free-standing housing for eliminating unwanted reflected waves in a room. The housing is intended to be placed in a location where undesired wave patterns, such as standing waves, are formed in order to offset or cancel such conditions. These conditions are offset by generating an acoustic signal which is the inverse of pressure waves at a particular location. The pressure waves are sensed by a module, including a microphone which generates a corresponding electrical signal. This signal is sent to an electrical circuit where an inverse signal is created which is then transmitted to a loudspeaker. The loudspeaker output is directed toward the location where the standing waves would be formed. The loudspeaker output nulls local acoustic waves so that no standing waves are formed. The housing may incorporate two acoustically isolated modules with resonance attenuating qualities, one at each end of the structure.

    摘要: In a noise canceler, a pilot-canceling signal without noise is applied to the inverting input of a subtracter via a first MOS transistor. When a noise signal is present, a pilot signal and noise signal passing through a capacitor are applied to the inverting input port of the subtracter via a second MOS transistor to cancel the noise signal contained in the composite input signal. In the canceler, external noise may be digitally converted and the inverted noise thereof stored in a memory. When a noise signal detector detects the external noise, inverted data corresponding to the external noise is output from the memory. The detector enables an address generator to continuously generate addresses. The memory reads out inverted noise patterns which are converted into analog form and transmitted via a speaker, thereby canceling noises produced by various electrical and electronic appliances as well as nearby automobiles and aircraft.
