    摘要: An interlock circuit for a utility vehicle park brake includes a relay connected to neutral switch on a transmission. The relay is actuated by electric current to move a contact to a closed position if the neutral switch is out of neutral. A throttle pedal switch connected to the relay moves a contact to a closed position if the throttle pedal is depressed. A park brake switch connected to the throttle pedal switch moves a contact to a closed position if the park brake is engaged. Closing all of the contacts grounds an ignition circuit connected to the interlock circuit, which may be a magneto ignition circuit.

    摘要: A brake-shift lever interlock unit (14) includes a pair of coils (24, 26) which are disposed in a coaxial relationship. A plunger (50) is movable in a passage (72) which extends through the coils (24, 26). When the plunger (50) is in a extended position, it is effective to block movement of a force transmitting member (52) connected with a vehicle shift lever (10) Upon actuation of the vehicle ignition switch (18), while the brake switch (20) remains in an unactuated condition, a plunger pull coil (24) is energized to move the plunger (50) from the extended position to the partially retracted position. A cam surface (68) on the plunger (50) then engages the force transmitting member (52) to continue to prevent movement of the vehicle shift lever (10) out of the park position. At this time, the plunger (50) engages a stop member (60). Upon actuation of the vehicle brake (44), a stopper hold coil (26) is de-energized and force applied against the cam surface (68) on the plunger by the force transmitting member (52) is effective to move the plunger (50) to the fully retracted position to enable the force transmitting member (52) to move to a release position.

    摘要: A safety device for an internal combustion engine powered implement and for disabling the operation of the internal combustion engine by means of a brake. The safety device includes a braking lever and a control lever which are both mounted on a single pivot member. Two springs are provided, the first of which normally urges the braking lever into contact with the flywheel of the internal combustion engine to prevent rotation thereof. The second spring biases the control lever into a rest position wherein the deadman control lever assumes its normal non-operated position and allows adjustment of control effort. The braking lever and control lever are mounted on the pivoting member by means of bushings to permit independent pivoting movement of the levers when the deadman lever is operated. The control lever contacts the braking lever by means of an abutment surface thereby rotating the braking lever out of contact with the flywheel and permitting the engine to operate. The braking lever also includes a protrusion for contacting an ignition circuit switch whereby the ignition circuit of the engine is also disabled in the rest position of the deadman control lever.
