    摘要: A manufacturing method for a cylinder head is described. A masking member is attached to a cylinder head material, which followed by a film formation step. The masking member comprises a mask portion to mask the matching surface with the cylinder block, mask portions to mask each of the openings of intake and exhaust ports and a mask portion to mask at least one narrow region sandwiched between openings of two adjacent port holes and has the shortest distance between opening edges of the two adjacent port holes. All Mask portions are coplanar and linked directly to each other.

    摘要: A partition plate for an intake port of a cylinder head to be manufactured by cast molding is preliminarily set prior to the cast molding in a sand core applied to form the intake port and then cast in by the cast molding to partition the intake port into a plurality of ports. The partition plate is provided with an intake-side distal end, a cylinder-side distal end, a pair of side edges continuous with the intake-side distal end and the cylinder-sided distal end and to be cast in by molten metal during the cast molding. Each of the pair of side edges having end faces facing in a thickness direction and a side end face continuous with the end faces. The partition plate is further provided with a promoter section provided on at least one of the side end face and the end faces of each of the pair of side edges to promote solidification of the molten metal.

    摘要: A diamond cutting element for use on an earth boring drill bit, such as a rotary drag bit. The cutting element is predominately comprised of a diamond cutting structure attached to either a reduced-volume substrate or directly to a bit body, optionally using a carrier structure mounted to the bit body. With such a configuration, stress between dissimilar materials, such as the substrate and the cutting structure, is reduced or entirely eliminated. Moreover, only the diamond cutting structure contacts the formation during drilling, resulting in lower friction, lower temperatures and lower wear rates of the cutting elements. The diamond cutting structure may also be polished and include one or more internal passageways that extend into the diamond through which fluids may be passed to transfer heat from the cutting element during drilling.

    摘要: A die package for forming a central disc structure having a plurality of integrally formed appendages extending therefrom includes a cylindrical array of appendage forming, abutting die segments which are prevented from tilting or moving in a circumferential direction by means of pins extending into slots formed along the parting lines between abutting die segments in the upper surfaces of the segments. In one embodiment, the pins extend upwardly from between opposed, parallel, radially and axially extending walls of each slot and fit tightly between said walls. The upper ends of the pins are secured to a rigid annular ring overlying the slots. The slots extend radially inwardly of the pins to allow the die segments to be moved radially outwardly after forging to release the forging from the die package.
