    摘要: A flat four-link rear axle with favorable dynamic properties is presented. The essential aspect lies in that the lower transverse control arm (1), the upper transverse control arm (2) and a compensating control arm (3) are arranged one behind the other (in the direction of travel), so that a spring (15) for supporting the wheel suspension on the body can be supported on the lower transverse control arm (1). The space created by shifting the transverse control arms makes it possible to use a barrel spring with progressive spring characteristic. The associated shock absorber (16) is arranged between the upper transverse control arm (2) and the compensating control arm (3), and its lower fixing eye (26) is mounted in the lower region of the axle carrier (4) so that the upper end of the shock absorber does not extend very far beyond the upper transverse control arm (2) compared with known solutions. This makes it possible to attach the shock absorber (16) to the lower side of the boot floor, which thus acquires a large width for loading wide objects. Moreover an auxiliary frame for such a rear wheel suspension is presented.

    摘要: The invention relates to a level control arrangement for vehicles having air springs (6a) to (6d) and a pneumatically controllable directional valve (26). A residual pressure holding function and an overpressure function are integrated into the directional valve (26). The directional valve (26) is controlled by the air pressure in the air springs (6a) to (6d). The air pressure can be applied via a control line (20) to a control input (24) of the directional valve (26). The air from the air springs (6a) to (6d) is released with the aid of the venting line (28). The venting line (28) is guided separately from the control line (20) through the directional valve (26). In this way, a large air flow can be conducted through the venting line (28) without the static air pressure in the control space (50) of the directional valve (26) being reduced. The venting line is blocked by a stepped piston (44) of the directional valve when no air is to be released from the air springs.

An anti-backlash lock member is engageable with one sway bar latch member to reduce backlash created by a splined connection when the latch members are fully engaged with each other.

    摘要: A wheel suspension system for a vehicle such as a truck trailer. Wheels of the suspension system are attached to stub axles supported by pivoting trailing arm wheel supports. The wheel supports are arranged on a sub-frame which can be slidingly coupled to the underneath of the trailer. Each wheel support is urged apart from the sub-frame by a spring such as an air spring. In one embodiment the air springs are pressurized under the control of an electronic controller. The rotational axes of the wheels are staggered or spaced apart, such that the rotational axes of the wheels on one side of the sub-frame are not coincident with the rotational axes of the wheels on the other side of the sub-frame.

The control arm includes first and second members each defining a recess corresponding to a portion of the outer surface of a vehicle axle. The members are welded or otherwise coupled together to surround at least a majority of the axle thereby enabling installation of the control arm without sliding the arm onto the axle. Each of the members includes a pair of sidewalls and a lateral wall joining, and integral with, the sidewalls. The sidewalls are angled relative to an axis of the axle to provide sufficient clearance for a spring assembly mounted to the control arm and centering of spring loads. The two sidewalls of one member may further include aligned apertures configured to receive a tube on which a shock absorber may be mounted. The tube enables strong and accurate mounting of the shock absorber.

    摘要: A steering and suspension arrangement for agricultural vehicle includes a horizontal axle transverse to the direction of movement with the ground wheel mounted at each end of the axle. The length of the axle can be adjusted by extending and retracting end portions of the axle relative to a centre section of the axle. Each end of the axle carries a wheel hub on a suspension arrangement defined by an upper plate, a lower plate, a first channel member attached to the lower plate and a second channel member attached to the upper plate with the channel members facing each other and connected by two parallel pivoting links. Between the plates is mounted a gas bag spring. The frame is divided into a front portion and a rear portion which are held against steering movement but can pivot, each relative to the other about a horizontal axis along the direction of travel to accommodate twisting beyond the limited suspension movement. The steering is effected by steering movements of the front wheels controlled by two separate cylinders which are arranged in a hydraulic circuit which automatically compensates for any fluid leakage to maintain the wheels aligned.
