Abstract:
A method of providing to a fragrance application a musky odour, comprising the addition thereto of at least one compound according to the formula I in which R1 is selected from H and CH3; R2, R3 are selected from the possibilities that (a) both are CH3; and (b) R2 and R3 together form a single bond (as indicated by the broken line); and n is an integer selected from 1, 2, 3, and 4. The compounds are useful in the complete range of fine and functional fragrance applications.
Abstract:
The present invention provides appropriately substituted chalcones, such as, for example, represented by the structural formula as shown herein below Wherein R1, R2 and R3 are selected from the group consisting of H, OH, O-alkyl, O-phenyl and O-substituted phenyl; B represents Ar—Z—O or RO; where Z is an alkane having up to 5 carbon atoms; R is substituted propanol amino, wherein substituted amino groups are selected from the group consisting of t-butyl, n-butyl, i-butyl, i-propyl, 4-phenyl piperazine-1-yl, 4-(2-methoxyphenyl)-piperazin-1-yl and 3,4-dimethoxy phenethyl; and Ar is thiazolidine-dione methylene phenoxy. The compounds prepared have been demonstrated to exhibit significant antidiabetic effect in various animal models indicating potential for further exploitation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to chalcone and chalcone derivatives and analogs which are useful as angiogenesis inhibitors. The present compounds, which are inexpensive to synthesize, exhibit unexpectedly good activity as angiogenesis inhibitors. The present invention also relates to the use of chalcone and its analogs as antitumor/anticancer agents and to treat a number of conditions or disease states in which angiogenesis is a factor, including angiongenic skin diseases such as psoriasis, acne, rosacea, warts, eczema, hemangiomas, lymphangiogenesis, among numerous others, as well as chronic inflammatory disease such as arthritis.
Abstract:
Multimethyl cyclohexene or cyclohexane derivatives having woody, spicy, amber or violet odors are disclosed. The derivatives can be formulated into perfurmes, talcs, lotions, cremes and air fresheners.

Abstract:
Upon reacting an alcohol having an olefinic double bond with an aryl bromide or iodide in the presence of a Paladium catalyst, there is provided either an aryl substituted aldehyde, ketone or olefinic alcohol.
Abstract:
Methods of preparing Pt/SrTiO3 photocatalysts comprising strontium titanate nanoparticles and platinum doped on a surface of the strontium titanate nanoparticles are described. Processes of oxidizing cycloalkanes to cycloalkanols and/or cycloalkanones by employing the Pt/SrTiO3 photocatalysts are specified. A method for recycling the photocatalyst is also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a two-photon light-emitting compound represented by formula (1), an optical data recording medium comprising a compound represented by formula (1), a two-photon polymerizable composition comprising a polymerizable monomer or polymerizable oligomer and at least compound represented by formula (1), and a photopolymerization process: X2—(—CR4═CR3—)m—C(═O)—(—CR1═CR2—)n—X1 (1) wherein X1 and X2 may be the same or different and each represent a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group; R1, R2, R3 and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or substituent; some of R1, R2, R3 and R4 may be connected to each other to form at least one ring; and n and m each independently represent an integer of from 1 to 4, with the proviso that when n and m are 2 or more, the plurality of R1's, R2's, R3's, and R4's each may be the same or different.
Abstract:
It is intended to provide compositions and foods for use in the treatment, prophylaxis, or amelioration of diseases or symptoms which can be treated, prevented or ameliorated by activating PPAR, in particular, insulin resistant diabetes and hyperlipidemia. Namely, medicinal compositions usable in treating, preventing or improving diseases or symptoms which can be treated, prevented or ameliorated by activation PPAR which contain humulones, isohumulones or lupulones or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or solvates thereof.
