摘要： The formaldehyde-free binder for materials containing cellulose contains a hydroxy aldehyde resin polycondensed with an ammonium salt, the resin being obtained, in especially preferred embodiments, from glycerin, in situ, with the aid of hydrogen peroxide. A protein component consisting of animal blood is added. The binder is urea-free and can be used as a one-component or two-component binder. It binds materials such as wood, paper and other natural fibres to form high-quality composite material products.

摘要： Formaldehyde-free binder compositions are described that include an aldehyde or ketone, a reaction product between a polyamine and an organic anhydride, and an acidic compound. The acidic compound may be an organic acid, an acidic catalyst, or both. The acidic compound is supplied in quantities that lower the pH of the binder composition to about 5 or less. The binder compositions may be used in methods of binding fiberglass and the resulting fiberglass products have an improved tensile strength due to the addition of the acidic compound.

摘要： Polyhexahydrotriazine (PHT) and polyhemiaminal (PHA) materials form highly cross-linked polymers which can be used as binder resins in composite materials. A filler element functionalized with a primary amine group can be covalently bonded to the PHA/PHT polymer resins. Example filler elements include, without limitation, carbon nanotubes, silica materials, carbon and glass fibers, and nanoparticles. Filler materials are incorporated into polymeric materials to improve the mechanical strength or other characteristics of the polymeric material for various applications. Typical composite materials use thermosetting materials that, once set, are intractable. PHT and PHA materials can be reverted to starting materials by exposure to acids. Thus, composite components formed using these materials are recyclable.

In such a conductive composition, at least part of the conductive polymer can be dissolved in the ionic liquid. Thus, the film formability, moldability, and workability of a conductive polymer, which is generally insoluble and infusible, can be increased. More specifically, the invention can provide a conductive composition containing a conductive polymer and an ionic liquid and having high film formability, moldability, and workability.

This composition generally includes 40-90 weight % of any of various types of additives, including pigments. The dispersant generally comprises from 30-80 weight % film former or binder, which may consist of cellulose acetate butyrate or a solid plasticizer, such as camphor, sucrose benzoate and dicyclohexylphthalate, and from 20-70 weight % of the aryl sulfonamide-formaldehyde resin. Apart from pigments, the additives may consist of fillers, extenders, etc., including, for example, calcium carbonate, antimony oxide and magnesium silicate.
