摘要： An automated health benefit processing system. The system includes a database and three processors. The database includes, for each geographic area and for each medical procedures for which a benefit is payable, the benefit payable to an insured if the procedure is prescribed and performed, a list of providers available to perform the designated procedure, and each provider's charge for performing the designated procedure. The first processor generates a treatment plan concerning the insured that specifies the identity of the insured and the medical procedures to be performed on the insured. The first processor also accesses the database to retrieve the information stored in the database under the medical procedures to be performed and to append this information to the treatment plan. The second processor generates a treatment record specifying the medical procedures actually performed by a provider and the provider's actual charge therefor. The third processor processes the information in the treatment plan and treatment records to determine amounts payable to the insured and the provider.

摘要： A business monitoring system and method having a supervisory work station and a staff work station as well, having a judgment condition storage function having stored therein a condition described for selecting and extracting contents of a business process transaction, having a judgment function for extracting a transaction having contents to be processed on the basis of the condition, and having a transaction-to-mail converting function for converting the transaction to a mail form according to the judgment result before sending it as electronic mail. The system and method allow a supervisor to register his problem concerned in the judgment condition storage function in a computer language suitable for end users or delete or change the already registered problem. The transaction-to-mail converting function allows the electronic mail converted to mail form to be sent to and stored in a mail box for the supervisory work station. The supervisor can then receive a report related to business processes of concern to him in the mailbox at his convenience.

摘要： A purchase order processing system allows purchase orders issued from a number of consignees each requiring different processing operations to be processed simply and in an error free manner. The system prompts a user for only that information required by a selected consignee to process a purchase order issued thereby. In processing a purchase order, the system verifies packing information against stored purchase order data. The system automatically generates shipping labels and advance shipping notices in compliance with the diverse requirements of the various consignees. In order to process purchase orders from different consignees, the system of the present invention utilizes nonconsignee specific software that operates in accordance with consignee specific data files that define the purchase order processing requirements of a consignee.

摘要： A vehicle for transport, fork lift or delivery route operations, for example, includes on-board peripherals which are coupled through a Local Area Network (LAN) into a data system. A LAN data bus provides selective access to the peripherals or data devices such as, for example, a large area display, a keyboard, a printer and a data terminal. The data system controls or provides data on tasks executed by or in connection with the operation of the vehicle. To increase the versatility of the vehicle, the data terminal, multiple data terminals, or any of the other data devices may be removably coupled to the LAN to be operable externally of the vehicle. A mobile mount adapter provides a secure electrical connection of a respective data terminal to the LAN to removably incorporate the data terminal into the data system. The data terminal includes base contact areas which are contacted by spring contacts of the adapter. An "open face" of a disclosed adapter allows a cable for a scanner or other data link to extend from adjacent the base contact areas without a need to remove the extending cable, thereby enabling a cable-connected scanner to be moved and used while the data terminal is disposed in the adapter.

A training system for training aircrews involves the use of academic media such as classrooms, training devices such as ground-based flight simulation trainers, and training flights in the air. In addition, it involves a computer network having terminals located at a central site, a plurality of training sites, and other remote sites. The computer data base is located at a central site, and the training facilities are located at training sites. Typically, computer terminals are connected together in a computer network by both dedicated and dial-up telephone lines, and typically the network may employ Intel 80386 machines running UNIX V, release 3.2. The scheduler of the present invention comprises an integrated system of hardware and software which is integrated into the already existing training system. It is embedded as a software subsystem in the training system, and is delivered on a type 80386 integrated circuit based computer element at each training site.

摘要： A computer is provided with a network planning facility, which displays in map form a network comprising a plurality of nodes each serving a plurality of subtending nodes, and in which the network is characterized by data stored in the computer. The operation of the planning facility is initiated in response to a user entering an appropriate command. Specifically, responsive to the command, the computer displays a plurality of symbols representing respective ones of the nodes, in which each such symbol is arranged so that it is indicative of the number of traffic terminations at its associated node. The user may then select, in a conventional manner, one of the displayed symbols and then invoke either an automatic mode or a manual mode. In the automatic mode, the computer itself develops a plan for rehoming to another network node individual ones of the subtending nodes associated with the selected node, in which the rehomed subtending nodes are selected based on their having a predetermined traffic relationship with the other node. In the manual mode, it is the user, rather than the computer, which develops the rehoming plan.
