Abstract: A server may be provided to obtain a load balancing artificial intelligence (AI) model for a plurality of base stations in a communication system. The server may obtain teacher models based on traffic data sets collected from the base stations, respectively; perform a policy rehearsal process including obtaining student models based on knowledge distillation from the teacher models, obtaining an ensemble student model by ensembling the student models, and obtaining a policy model by interacting with the ensemble student mode; provide the policy model to each of the base stations for a policy evaluation of the policy model; and based on a training continue signal being received from at least one of the base stations as a result of the policy evaluation, update the ensemble student model and the policy model by performing the policy rehearsal process on the student models.

Abstract: The media stream delivery system encodes and fragments media streams into numerous media stream fragments maintained on fragment servers. Devices obtain fragments to reconstruct media streams including live real-time media streams for playback on the devices. A device may perform caching of media stream fragments so that particular fragments need not be accessed again from a fragment server. A fragment server or even a content provider can analyze and monitor characteristics of media streams, viewing behavior, content popularity, etc., to identify fragments for caching at the playback devices. Caching indicators along with time period indicators may be included in the media stream fragments.

Abstract: The described technology is directed towards returning expanded data, beyond the data that was specifically requested, to a client, in order to reduce or eliminate likely subsequent requests for more data. Client requests for data items are processed by expansion rule logic to find an expansion rule set (e.g., file) corresponding to the identified data item. The rule set is used to expand requests for certain data items into expanded requests that return more data items than those requested. Client devices receive, cache and (often) use the cached expanded data items, which thereby reduces the overall number of requests to the data service. Expansion rules may be based upon observations (e.g., machine learned and/or manual) of request patterns, so as to reasonably predict which data item or items clients will likely next need, and return those as expanded data items in anticipation of their need.

Abstract: When a request for accessing a service is received, a user object may be stored in a long-term data store, as well as in a short-term cache. The cache may be divided into a regular cache that stores full versions of the user objects, and a surrogate cache that stores compact versions of the user object. The compact version of the user object may include a field that is derived from the full user object indicating whether a subsequent request for access to a particular service should be granted. After access is granted/denied based on this value in the compact user object, the system can process an update to the full user object offline. This surrogate cache structure may be used to rapidly approve/deny requests, decoupling this procedure from the processing involved with a full user object.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems and methods for providing a smart cache. In embodiments, a variable time to live (TTL) may be calculated and associated with data as it is stored in a cache. The variable TTL may be calculated based upon reputation and/or category information related to the source of the data. The reputation and/or category information may include TTL modifiers for adjusting the TTL for data from a particular data source that is stored in the cache. In further embodiments, a feedback method may be employed to update reputation and/or category information for a particular data source.
