摘要: A slurrying device includes a slurrying tank and a rotor stirrer. The rotor stirrer includes a stirring drum, a transmission gear arranged at an end face of the stirring drum configured to face the slurrying tank, and a rotor stirring rod configured to extend from the stirring drum and into the slurrying tank to stir a slurrying liquid in the slurrying tank. The rotor stirring rod is meshed with the transmission gear and configured to revolve along a planar trajectory of the transmission gear while simultaneously rotating. The rotor stirrer further includes a driving device provided at the stirring drum and configured to drive the rotor stirring rod to rotate via the transmission gear.

摘要: An impeller is usable in a variable diameter bioreactor having multiple vessel sections of successively increasing or decreasing volume. The impeller includes an impeller blade extending along an impeller blade axis between first and second axial ends and having opposed impeller blade faces, an impeller blade leading edge, and an impeller blade trailing edge. Each of the leading and trailing edges defines a helix or spiral between the axial ends of the impeller blade. In certain arrangements, the impeller blade is one of at least two impeller blades joined together along an impeller shaft extending axially along the impeller blade axis mentioned, and the helix or spiral has a pitch approximately equal to one half of a length between the first and second axial ends.

摘要: The present set of embodiments relate to a bioproduction system, method, and apparatus for creating a scalable bioreactor system. Specifically, the present set of embodiments enable the determination of bioreaction performance characteristics of a commercial scale by matching operational parameters between a small test scale bioreaction to that of a commercial scale bioreaction. The system and methods do not rely on simply making bioreactor apparatuses across scales the same dimensionally which would not account for differences in fluid dynamic properties between very small to very large volumes, but requires tuning of a variety of systems (mixing assembly, sparger system, and headspace airflow system) in conjunction with one another to achieve predictive outcomes.

摘要: A system for continuously making-down a dry powder material is provided. The system may include a liquid supply system, a material feed system, a vessel, a filter, and an agitator. The vessel may receive a continuous supply of liquid from the liquid supply system and a continuous supply of dry powder from the material feed system. The liquid and material may be discharged continuously from the vessel. A filter may sealingly extend across the outlet to filter the solution exiting the vessel. The filter may include an upstream surface in contact with the inner volume of the vessel. The agitator may be disposed within the vessel and may be configured to agitate the contents of the vessel. The agitator may include a wiping member configured to contact the upstream surface of the filter while agitating the contents.

A second weight value is received from the sensor associated with the feed mixer and a second rotation speed associated with the second weight value is monitored. A mixing profile is generated based on the first weight value, the second weight value, the first rotation speed, and the second rotation speed. In one embodiment, a first feed ingredient is associated with the first weight value and a second feed ingredient is associated with the second weight value.

摘要: In an embodiment, a reactor for carrying out a melt transesterification reaction at a reactor temperature of 160 to 300° C. and a reactor pressure of 5 to 200 mbar, comprises a cylindrical tank comprising a top, a side, and a bottom, wherein the bottom is convex, extending away from the top; a stirring shaft disposed within the cylindrical tank along an axis thereof so that it is rotatable from outside of the cylindrical tank; an impeller extending from the stirring shaft in the cylindrical tank and comprising a plurality of blades; a reactant solution inlet; a reaction solution outlet; and an externally located heat exchanger in fluid communication with the cylindrical tank via a recirculation stream and a heated stream. The reactor can be used for the polymerization of a polycarbonate oligomer.

摘要: The present set of embodiments relate to a system, method, and apparatus for culturing cells within a cell culture vessel having a mixing element. The cell culture system includes a flexible portion and a mixing element disposed therein. The mixing element includes a suspended foldable portion. The system is configured to reduce shear stress on cells without compromising mixing efficiency. This reduction is accomplished by using a mixing element having a large surface area allowing for reduced rotational speeds. The system is collapsible for ease of transport and disposal. The flexible portion collapses and the foldable portion folds to minimize the volume of the system while not in operation.
