摘要: A method of pumping fluid out of a bioprocess vessel includes providing a bioprocess vessel defining an interior volume and having a bottom surface containing an aperture or port therein for the passage of fluid and a pump head integrally formed with or bonded to the bottom surface of the bioprocess vessel or secured to the port, wherein the pump head further comprises an inlet and an outlet with the inlet in fluid communication with the interior volume, the pump head further including a plurality of diaphragms, each diaphragm associated with a check-valve, wherein sequential actuation of the plurality of diaphragms pumps fluid from the interior volume of the bioprocess vessel into the inlet and out of the outlet. The plurality of diaphragms are actuated with a motor secured to the pump head. In other embodiments, the pump head is secured to the bioprocess vessel with fasteners.

摘要: A mixing device for mixing at least two substances includes a single-use device and a reusable device. The single-use device includes an impeller, vanes, and a cup for receiving the rotor housing. A magnetically effective core is in the rotor housing. The reusable device includes a stator to contactlessly magnetically drive the impeller about the axis of rotation and magnetically levitate the impeller with respect to the stator. A plurality of stabilizing elements is on the impeller for stabilizing the impeller against tilting. Each stabilizing element is arranged between two vanes and extends from a radial inner edge to a radial outer edge with respect to the radial direction, and each radial outer edge has a distance from the axis of rotation which is smaller than half the outer diameter of the impeller.

摘要: An impeller is usable in a variable diameter bioreactor having multiple vessel sections of successively increasing or decreasing volume. The impeller includes an impeller blade extending along an impeller blade axis between first and second axial ends and having opposed impeller blade faces, an impeller blade leading edge, and an impeller blade trailing edge. Each of the leading and trailing edges defines a helix or spiral between the axial ends of the impeller blade. In certain arrangements, the impeller blade is one of at least two impeller blades joined together along an impeller shaft extending axially along the impeller blade axis mentioned, and the helix or spiral has a pitch approximately equal to one half of a length between the first and second axial ends.

摘要: A method for operating an agitating device and a digester, wherein the digester is filled with a substrate and an agitating device is in the digester. These steps are performed: a) A target load curve is lodged in the control device; b) the control device prescribes a target rotation speed; c) the control device operates the agitating device at an actual speed corresponding to a target speed; d) the control device captures an actual agitating device torque measurement value at the actual speed of rotation; e) the control device derives from the actual measurement value an actual characteristic value of the agitating device applied torque; f) the control device compares the derived actual characteristic value against the target characteristic value of the substrate resulting from the target load curve at the prescribed target speed; and g) the control device controls the agitating device in dependence on the result of comparison.
