    摘要: An endless abrasive belt dispenser (212) is disclosed and has a housing (222), a retaining element (224) and an actuating element (226). The housing (222) is configured to receive a plurality of endless abrasive belts (14) therein with the plurality of endless abrasive belts arranged as a stack. The retaining element (224) is moveable relative to a wall (230) of the housing (222) and is configured to hold the stack within the housing such that a first of the plurality of endless abrasive belts of the stack selectively contacts the first wall (230) and is generally aligned with an opening (216) of the housing. The actuating element (226) is moveable relative to the first wall (230) and retaining element (224) and is configured to selectively contact and move the first of the plurality of endless abrasive belts (14) relative to the first wall (230) and to the opening (216).

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a hardbanding removal apparatus and method for use with oilfield tubulars and downhole tools. The apparatus includes a tiltable frame with support arm, a grinding wheel coupled to the support arm, and an idler wheel assembly to supply mechanical feedback to the grinding wheel through the support arm. The mechanical feedback allows the grinding wheel to remove hardbanding accurately and uniformly on tubulars that are eccentric, curved, or have eccentric hardbanding. The tiltable frame enables grinding of tapered sections of the tubular without reorienting the tubular. The method includes removing hardbanding using the apparatus.

    摘要: The invention discloses a transform mechanism of a finishing wheel for an abrasive belt polishing finisher in the field of mechanical technology. The invention is disposed on the inner side of the abrasive belt of the finisher, comprising several slide rails disposed on the side of the frame of the finisher and sliders on the slide rails. A finishing wheel is fixedly connected with each of the sliders. The curved surface of the rim of each of the said finishing wheels has a different curvature. A driving element connected with the slider is provided on the frame of the finisher close to each of the sliders. The finishing wheel corresponding to the driving element, driven by the said driving element, is pressed against the inner side of the abrasive belt. The transform mechanism of the invention could be widely applied and has a high polishing and finishing efficiency.

    摘要: A method for removing polishing byproducts and a polishing device are provided. The method includes mounting a positive electrode on the center of a polishing platen and a negative electrode on an edge of the polishing platen, applying a voltage between the positive electrode and the negative electrode after a polishing process for metal is finished, and rotating the polishing platen and rinsing a polishing pad with deionized water or a chemical cleaning solution to remove polishing byproducts that are formed in the polishing process. The combination of the centrifugal force and the electromotive force increases the removal rate of the polishing byproducts.

    摘要: A disc-shaped, rotary dressing tool has a rigid core and an abrasive rim around at least one surface of the periphery of the rigid core. The rigid core and the abrasive rim are oriented in a direction orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the tool. In an embodiment, the abrasive rim comprises an abrasive component bonded to the rigid core by means of an active braze. The abrasive component can be diamond grains arranged in a single layer or diamond film inserts. In a particular embodiment, the abrasive component can comprise a plurality of abrasive inserts mechanically fastened to the rigid core. In another embodiment, the abrasive rim can comprise strips of an abrasive component with each strip being filled into slots machined into and through the perimeter of the core.

In one aspect, a method of improving retention of superabrasive particles held in a solidified organic material layer of an abrading tool, a portion of each of said superabrasive particles protruding out of the solidified organic material layer is provided. The method may include securing a plurality of superabrasive particles in the solidified organic material layer in an arrangement that minimizes mechanical stress impinging on the protruding portion of any individual superabrasive particle when used to abrade a work piece. As an example, the arrangement of the plurality of superabrasive particles may be configured to uniformly distribute frictional forces across substantially each superabrasive particle.
