    摘要: In accordance with one embodiment, a paper processing apparatus comprises a perforation unit configured to include a rotary blade for perforating conveyed paper in a direction parallel to a conveyance direction and be capable of moving the rotary blade in a direction orthogonal to a conveyance path of the paper; a skew detection section configured at the upstream side of the perforation unit to detect the skew of the paper; a skew correction mechanism configured to incline the perforation unit and the rotary blade according to the detected skew amount of the paper; and a control section configured to control the position of the rotary blade and move the rotary blade to a perforation processing position before the paper is conveyed to the perforation unit.

    摘要: A system and method are disclosed for dispensing an amount of imbalance correction weight for attachment to a rotary element to reduce an imbalance in the rotary element. The imbalance correction weight includes a number of individual weights provided on a length of double-sided adhesive tape. A guide directs the imbalance correction weight through a channel provided by the guide toward a tape divider. A driver pulls a protective backing away from the tape causing the imbalance correction weight to move through the channel toward the tape divider. A sensor counts the individual weights that move past it. When the sensor has counted a desired number of individual weights, a controller instructs the driver to stop pulling on the protective backing thereby stopping movement of the imbalance correction weight and then instructs the tape divider to divide the tape to provide the amount of imbalance correction weight. A weight applicator automatically receives the amount of imbalance correction weight and is operable to attach it to the rotary element.

    摘要: A continuous web of sheet material is fed through the nip of a first pair of driven pull rolls around a series of idler rollers and through the nip of a second pair of driven pull rolls. The pairs of pull rolls are selectively rotated to exert a desired tension on the web in a tension zone formed between the pairs of rolls. One pair of pull rolls operates as feed rolls to advance a preselected length of the web to a rotating cutter mechanism so that envelope blanks of a selected length are cut from the web for each revolution of the cutter mechanism. The feed rolls are operated by a servo-controlled motor responsive to an operator initiated signal to adjust the feed length without interrupting the feed of the web to the cutter mechanism. The second pair of pull rolls operates as tension rolls and is servo-motor controlled to maintain a preselected tension on the web fed to the cutter mechanism. The web in the tension zone is rotatably supported by idler rolls having load cells for generating a signal to a controller proportional to the tension applied to the web. Operator input through a keypad to the controller actuates the tension rolls at a gear ratio for generating a desired tension in the web. A deviation in the applied tension from the commanded tension actuates the servo-motor for the tension rolls to adjust the rotation thereof to restore the desired tension in the web.

    摘要: A control system is established wherein, when there is a flow of continuous web material (2), an identification phase is provided by increasing the torque signal to a pull roll motor (13) until slippage between the pull roll (12) and continuous web is created at a breakaway torque point, the value of which is measurable. The pull roll motor is then caused to be driven by a signal which creates a motor torque output which is of a value less than the breakaway torque point. Thus, no slippage can occur. As the motor is driven at the lower torque value, a calibration phase is entered wherein an encoder output of the pull roll is properly equated with that of a measuring wheel (9), this phase occuring at a time when there can be no slip between the web-roll interface. The identification-calibration process can be repeated as often as desired. The control system further includes the ability to cause acceleration of the pull roll after the web has been severed upstream to thereby accelerate the tail or downstream portion of the severed discontinuous web until a desired gap is created for use in a slitting device (6). At this point, which is subsequent to the identification-calibration phases, the control returns the motor input to the lower torque value.

The programmed computer 18 is programmed to calculate the optimum number of slices and thickness of the slices forming each group in dependence upon physical parameters of the product 7 and to control the feed rate of the feeding mechanism 8, 9, 11, 12 and the conveyor system 14 to form the groups so that the slices in each group are of optimum thickness and there are the optimum number of slices in each group.

    摘要: Apparatus for severing thermoplastic sheet continuously produced from an extruder and successively feeding a length of plastic web to an intermittently operated forming machine. The extruded and cooled sheet drops from a roller down on a belt conveyor running at the same speed as the extrusion rate and is transferred towards the forming machine by a pair of clamp chains. The chains extend from sprocket wheels located in the range of the belt conveyor and are adapted to run intermittently at a speed higher than the extrusion rate and in accordance with the operation of the forming operation. The running speed of the conveyor belt can be increased to the higher speed when the falling sheet has been severed thereabove in the suspended position so that the severed plastic web is grasped by the clamp chains to be fed to the shaping station of the forming machine.
