    摘要: A method for producing starch films comprises the following steps: preparing a mixture comprising starch and water, wherein more than 50 weight percent of the starch is present in the form of particles of granular starch; shaping the mixture to form a film in a shaping process; solidifying the mixture by increasing the temperature of the mixture during and/or after the shaping process by more than 5° C. Films produced by this method have starch particles bonded to one another. A device for performing this method comprises a shaping device for enabling shaping of the starch material to form a film, and has a heating device for performing a heat treatment for destructuring of the starch during and/or after the shaping.

    摘要: There is disclosed a pressing apparatus for fabricating a dense, rigid, durable panel from a molten composite material, such as a composite of wood fibers and thermoplastic. The apparatus features a first platen in spaced and angled relation to a second platen to define a gap between said platens. The gap decreases uniformly from first ends of the platens toward second ends of the platens, and conveyer belts, movably disposed along opposing surfaces of said platens, move molten composite material through the decreasing gap to compress the molten composite material between the platens, while substantially simultaneously the material undergoes first passive and then active cooling into a rigid sheet.

    摘要: A method for forming a convex tilting zone (23) at a main body-surface (11) of a transverse element for application in a push belt for a continuously variable transmission comprises the step of applying a die (30) that is placed against the main body surface (11) under pressure. However, the die (30) is pressed against the main body surface (11) just outside of an area where the tilting zone (23) needs to be formed. By applying the die (30), a recessed area (27) is arranged in the main body surface (11), wherein retraction of the material of the transverse element takes place along an upper edge (28) of this area (27). A retraction area that is obtained in this manner is suitable to function as tilting zone (23). An important advantage of the application of the described method is that the pressure that is exerted on the die (30) may be considerably lower than the pressure that is required during conventional processes for forming a tilting zone (23).

    摘要: An apparatus for forming panels from moldable material comprising: a material storage and feeding container for placing moldable material on a sheet of peel ply material on top of a conveyor. The conveyor has a roughened surface for gripping the sheet of peel ply material. The moldable material is leveled by a sizing plate which also places a second sheet of peel ply material over the moldable material to form a web. The web is compressed in a compression zone and is stabilized in thickness to form panels of compressed, dimensionally stabilized material as it is moved by the conveyor. Also disclosed is a method for making such panels from moldable material.

    摘要: A vacuum pressure forming apparatus which is capable of uniformly heating a sheet member and preventing the occurrence of wrinkles or rain drops in the sheet member. The apparatus is equipped with an endless belt having a number of air holes and is stretched between a heating drum and a cooling drum. After preheating, the sheet member is placed closely into contact with a surface of the endless belt through the use of a pressing roller and the sheet member is clamped between the endless belt and a metal pattern having a plurality of cavities formed therein. The apparatus further includes a pressure difference producing device which supplies pressurized air from a rear surface side of the endless belt toward the sheet member such that pressure on an upper surface of the sheet member becomes higher than pressure on a lower surface thereof. Consequently, the sheet member is formed into configurations corresponding to the configurations of the cavities of the metal pattern.

    摘要: A method of extruding a profiled strip of polymeric material off the extrusion die of a plastic extruder and immediately thereafter compression forming a predetermined section of the profiled strip into a predetermined shape when temperature of the polymeric material is sufficiently high to allow plastic flow in the profiled strip. The method including the steps of first extruding a profiled strip of polymeric material through the extrusion die and compression molding a predetermined section of the profiled strip into a predetermined shape at a close proximity from the extrusion die with a set of compression molding dies capable of traveling with the profiled strip at substantially the same speed for a sufficient length of time to permanently set the predetermined shape, disengaging the compression molding dies from the profiled strip at a predetermined distance from the extrusion die; cooling the profiled strip having the compression molded predetermined shape in a suitable cooling fluid such that the predetermined shape is permanently maintained, and then trimming the extruded profiled strip into discontinuous pieces each having the compression molded predetermined shape.
