    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a lubricating oil composition which, even while exhibiting an excellent friction reducing effect by combining plural types of molybdenum-based friction modifiers, has excellent high-temperature detergency, oxidation stability and copper corrosion resistance. The object has been achieved by a lubricating oil composition containing a base oil (A), a molybdenum-based friction modifier (B), a metal-based detergent (C), and an ash-free dispersant (D), wherein the molybdenum-based friction modifier (B) contains two or more selected from the group consisting of a binuclear molybdenum dithiocarbamate (B1), a trinuclear molybdenum dithiocarbamate (B2), and a molybdenum-amine complex (B3); the metal-based detergent (C) contains a sulfur atom; the ash-free dispersant (D) contains a nitrogen atom; the acid value derived from the binuclear molybdenum dithiocarbamate (B1) and the trinuclear molybdenum dithiocarbamate (B2) is less than 0.04 mgKOH/g; the content ratio of a sulfur content (CS) derived from the metal-based detergent (C) to a nitrogen content (DN) derived from the ash-free dispersant (D), [(CS)/(DN)] is 0.30 to 0.85 in terms of the mass ratio; and the phosphorus content based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition is more than 0.04% by mass and less than 0.10% by mass.

    摘要: Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition which comprises: (a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. in a range of about 2 to about 50 mm2/s, (b) an overbased metal salt of an alkyl-substituted phenate detergent, wherein the alkyl group is derived from an isomerized normal alpha olefin having from about 10 to about 40 carbon atoms per molecule and having an isomerization level (I) of the normal alpha olefin of from about 0.1 to about 0.4 in an amount to provide at least 1000 ppm of calcium, (c) one or more magnesium-containing detergents having about 100 to about 1000 ppm of magnesium, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition, and (d) one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compounds derived from a primary alcohol.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for improving compatibility of a fluorocarbon elastomer seal with a lubricating oil composition containing (a) a major amount of a base oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) one or more dispersants containing one or more basic nitrogen atoms. The method involves adding to the lubricating oil composition an effective amount of one or more fluorocarbon elastomer compatibility improving agents comprising one or more non-halogen-containing oil-soluble titanium complexes comprising at least one ligand selected from the group consisting of (i) an anion of a saturated carboxylic acid, (ii) an anion of an α-, β- or γ-hydroxycarbonyl compound; (iii) an anion of an α-, β- or γ-hydroxycarboxylic acid, amide, or ester; (iv) an anion of an α-, β- or γ-aminocarboxylic acid; and (v) an anion of an α-, β- or γ-keto acid.
