Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing lubricating compositions, oily corrosion-inhibiting industrial degreasers for oils and fuels, which are not degradable in the presence of oxygen, water, high temperatures and via contamination with particles, based on distilled and double-distilled fatty acids, a ternary compound, halogenated compounds, organic polymers, alcohols and mineral oil.
Abstract:

Abstract:
This invention describes novel trunk piston engine lubricating oil compositions for use in trunk piston engines operating on low sulfur marine residual fuels, as well as methods for lubricating trunk piston engines, methods of using the trunk piston lubricating oil compositions, and methods of making thereof.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a lubricant composition comprising at least one anionic compound; and at least one cationic compound, wherein at least one of the anionic compound and the cationic compound is a friction modifier; and wherein the composition has (i) a temperature roll over difference of about 27° F. or greater, and (ii) a passing High Temperature L-37 score.
Abstract:
Thermally stable textile lubricants suitable for spinning finishes based on polyol fatty acid esters, into which esters of thiocarboxylic acids corresponding to general formula (I) and/or (II):R.sup.1 --S--R.sup.2 --COOH (I)HOOC--R.sup.3 --S--R.sup.4 --COOH (II)in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 may be the same or different and represent an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or alkaryl group containing 1 to 22 carbon atoms, are introduced to increase thermal stability, are distinguished by excellent thermal stability.
Abstract:
A light-duty, multi-purpose lubricant particularly formulated for use on the diverse bearing surfaces of a bicycle chain and other similar low-speed and low-temperature mechanisms operating in a dusty environment. The lubricant comprises an insoluble soap, preferably Calcium Stearate in suspension in a volatile solvent-based solution of paraffin wax and Petrolatum. After application and evaporation of the solvent the composite dry lubricant exhibits good penetration and load bearing properties without the dirt-retaining character of greases. The undissolved particles of soap combine with dirt particles to break-down portions of the lubricant into a dry flaky dust which is sloughed off the mechanism.
Abstract:
A lubricant and surface conditioner for formed metal surfaces, particularly aluminum and tin beverage containers, reduces the coefficient of static friction of said metal surfaces and enables drying said metal surfaces at a lower temperature. The conditioner includes a water-soluble organic material selected from alkoxylated or non-alkoxylated castor oil triglycerides and hydrogenated castor oil derivatives; alkoxylated and nonoalkoxylated amine salts of a fatty acid including mono-, di-, tri-, and poly-acids; alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated amino fatty acids; alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated fatty amine N-oxides, alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated quaternary ammonium salts, oxa-acid esters, and water-soluble alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated polymers.
Abstract:
A lubricant and surface conditioner for formed metal surfaces, particularly beverage containers, which reduces the coefficient of static friction of said metal surfaces and increases their mobility without adversely affecting the adhesion of paints or lacquers applied thereto. The conditioner is a water-soluble organic material selected from a phosphate ester, alcohol, fatty acid including mono-, di-, tri-, and poly-acids; fatty acid derivatives such as salts, hydroxy acids, amides, esters, ethers and derivatives thereof; and mixture thereof.
Abstract:
A gelled dielectric encapsulant material and process therefor for use in reenterable and nonreenterable communication cable splices as well as applications relating to encapsulation of electronic components comprises a plasticizer which does not stress crack polycarbonate, an aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid, and a basic oxide or hydroxide.
Abstract:
A trunk piston marine engine lubricant comprises in respective minor amounts (A) an overbased metal hydrocarbyl-substituted hydroxybenzoate detergent system, and (B) a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic acid anhydride, preferably made by halogen- or radical-assisted fractionalization processes, where the ratio of succinic anhydride to hydrocarbyl chains is in the range of 1.4 to 4. The lubricant, when used to lubricate such an engine fuelled by heavy fuel oil, exhibits improved control of asphaltene precipitation and deposition on engine surfaces.
