    摘要: A method of controlling fuel injection into a combustor of a gas turbine engine including: applying a first electrical charge to fuel such that the fuel becomes a charged fuel; and applying a second electrical charge to a component of the combustor, wherein the first electrical charge is applied to the fuel at a first frequency and the second electrical charge is applied to the component at a second frequency such that at least one of a selected tone, a selected screech, and a selected noise is produced by spraying the charged fuel through the component and into a combustion chamber of the combustor from a fuel nozzle.

    摘要: A high-pressure fuel pump includes a fuel chamber, a pressurizing chamber, a cylinder, a plunger, and a control valve. The control valve includes a valve seat having a valve hole, a valve member, a movable portion having a needle, a valve opening spring, a coil, and a projecting-side stopper. The needle is configured to project from the valve hole and thus separate the valve member from the valve seat. When the control valve is in an open-valve mode, the movable portion contacts the projecting-side stopper and the valve member is separate from the valve seat. The size of the clearance formed between the valve member and the valve seat when the control valve is in the open-valve mode is set such that the clearance functions as a passage restriction for causing pressure loss in the fuel flowing from the pressurizing chamber to the fuel chamber.

In one embodiment, a method of operating a fuel system comprises applying a pulse to a fuel pump responsive to detecting that lift pump pressure corresponds to a fuel vapor pressure, ceasing application of the pulse responsive to detecting that the lift pump pressure corresponds to a relief setpoint pressure, and indicating degradation in the fuel system if the detected lift pump pressure deviates from an expected fuel rail pressure, including distinguishing among degradation in the fuel pump, a lower pressure fuel pressure sensor, a fuel rail pressure sensor, and a pressure relief valve.

    摘要: A fuel injector may include a housing, a poppet valve assembly, and an actuation assembly. The housing may define a longitudinal bore, a high pressure fuel duct in communication with the longitudinal bore and a valve seat including a valve seat surface and an aperture. The poppet valve assembly may include a stem and a valve head, be disposed within the longitudinal bore and be variably displaceable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the valve head may abut the valve seat to seal the aperture. In the second position, the valve head may be displaced from the valve seat to open the aperture. The actuation assembly may operate to move the poppet valve assembly between the first position and the second position. The high pressure fuel duct may carry pressurized fuel that biases the poppet valve assembly to be in the first position.

    摘要: A fuel supply system has a pressure chamber which communicates with a fuel gallery. The pressure chamber receives the fuel from the feed pump or the returned fuel from the fuel gallery. The fuel in the pressure chamber receives heat energy from the engine E so that the fuel is brought into gas-liquid phase. A volume change of the fuel in liquid phase in the fuel gallery can be compensated by a volume change of the fuel in gas phase or gas-liquid phase in the pressure chamber. Thus, the pressure pulsation in the fuel gallery is absorbed in the pressure chamber.
