摘要: In one example embodiment, a computer-implemented method for determining traffic conditions includes obtaining traffic sample data associated with a first direction of traffic on a first road segment, the traffic sample data including data indicative of a plurality of movement speeds associated with a plurality of objects. The method includes determining a plurality of average traffic speeds for the first direction of traffic on the first road segment based at least in part on the plurality of movement speeds. The method includes associating each of the plurality of average traffic speeds with at least one of a plurality of traffic types. The method includes determining map data based at least in part on the plurality of traffic types and associated average traffic speeds. The method includes transmitting to a client device in response to a request, map data corresponding to at least one of the plurality of traffic types.

摘要: To reduce the effects of traffic jams, a traffic reduction system identifies road segments having more a threshold amount of traffic. The traffic reduction system also receives an indication of a current location of a client device operating in a vehicle and compares the current location to the locations of the identified road segments to determine whether the vehicle is on or approaching the road segment. If the vehicle is on or approaching the road segment, the traffic reduction system determines a target speed for the vehicle to maintain an equal distance between the vehicle and the vehicle in front of the vehicle and the vehicle and the vehicle behind the vehicle. The traffic reduction system then provides the target speed to the client device for display on a user interface. By maintaining equal distances between vehicles in front of and behind each other, the amount of traffic dissipates.

摘要: A system to reduce probability of a crash in an intersection is disclosed which includes one or more way-sensor systems, the one or more sensor systems adapted to provide position and velocity vector of an object approaching the intersection on an associated path, a processing unit including configured to: determine timing of the object with respect to a predefined zone of the intersection on the associated path, determine the current and future status of the associated traffic lights on the associated path of the object, predict timing of the object with respect to the predefined zone and future status of the associated traffic light, if timing prediction is within a predetermined threshold, modify the current status, wherein tgreen is extended, if timing prediction is outside of the predetermined threshold, modify the current status, wherein tgreen is reduced, and repeating above steps until the object has cleared the intersection.

摘要: A system for determining a vehicle queue length in a connected vehicle infrastructure environment includes a vehicle traffic data evaluation module with a processor configured via executable instructions to receive vehicle traffic data of multiple vehicles, the vehicle traffic data comprising basic safety messages, create a geometric representation of a vehicle queue, the vehicle queue comprising one or more segments, each segment comprising a set length, extract data of speed, location, date and time from the basic safety messages, aggregate extracted data with the geometric representation of the vehicle queue, assign a speed value of a basic safety message of a vehicle to a segment when the vehicle is identified to be located within the segment of the vehicle queue, detect a sequence of segments comprising assigned speed values, and determine a vehicle queue length based on the set length of each segment.

摘要: A system and method for providing increased traffic carrying capacity of a road, such as a highway, by modifying an existing roadway from, for example, four lanes to five lanes, to create an additional travel lane. The system and method dynamically changes the width of travel lanes using, for example, embedded pavement lights, or other lighting arrangements, in lieu of traditional painted lane lines. As traffic volumes increase and speeds decrease along the road, an intelligent transport system (ITS) sends a congestion signal to the overhead lane controls and dynamic message signs (DMS) along the entire road segment of interest. The posted speed limits are changed, and the lane markings are controlled to dynamically increase the number of lanes in the road segment to five, for example, of narrower widths until traffic volumes reduce and the number of lanes can be returned to four, for example, with normal speed limits.

摘要: A regional dynamic perimeter control method and system for preventing boundary links queuing overflow. The method includes: estimating the number of queuing vehicles of boundary links using a Kalman filtering extension method using traffic flow information, and calculating a maximum of receivable vehicles; dividing the boundary links utilizing an estimated number of each boundary link's queuing vehicles and the maximum number of receivable vehicles obtaining a boundary link set with sufficient storage and a boundary link set with insufficient storage; obtaining a critical accumulation of a region according to a preset Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram (MFD) model of the region, and predicting the estimated region accumulation in a sampling period; and controlling a regional boundary intersection traffic flow operation using a deviation between the predicted and critical accumulation and boundary link sets. Deterioration of regional traffic flow is avoided, and the probability of overflow of boundary links is reduced.

摘要: The invention relates to a variable speed limit (VSL), ramp metering (RM), and a collaborative method of variable speed limit and ramp metering (VSL-RM) on expressways based on crash risk, including the following steps: 1) calculating the crash risk index within each control step, activating the VSL-RM strategy when the crash risk index exceeds the threshold of the crash risk index, and 2) conduct a multiple-ramp metering strategy, determine the ramps to be controlled and the start-up time for RM, and calculate the integrated ramp regulation rate; 3) execute a variable speed limit strategy to obtain the displayed speed limit value for the segment downstream of the cluster and adjust the ramp regulation rate, mainline desired speed and mainline speed of the segment for the next time period accordingly.

摘要: An urban tunnel variable lane dividing line control method, comprising: setting a distance between adjacent infrared detection apparatuses, and arranging a number n of infrared detection apparatuses side by side directly above the center of a lane of an urban tunnel; when a certain infrared detection apparatus in the urban tunnel detects a passing vehicle signal, extending the travelling direction, and if a number a of adjacent infrared detection apparatuses further along the travelling direction do not detect a passing vehicle signal within a time t, determining that the vehicle is a very slow vehicle, and changing a number m of LED indication lights which are fully illuminated to be illuminated at intervals. The urban tunnel variable lane dividing line control method can determine whether a very slow vehicle is present in a lane, and adjust a display state of a lane dividing line in an urban tunnel in real time, thereby increasing urban tunnel traffic efficiency, and preventing very slow vehicles from affecting urban tunnel traffic capacity.
