A rotary hot plate welding system joins portions of two parts made of thermoplastic material by inserting the two parts into a clamping mechanism with the two parts spaced from each other. The clamping mechanism is mounted on a turntable that is rotatable around an axis that is parallel to the direction of movement of the parts when they are moved to clamp them together. By indexing the turntable, the two parts are moved into alignment with at least one stationary heated plate extending between the two parts to be joined, to melt the opposed surfaces of the two parts. The turntable is then indexed to a station where the melted surfaces of the two parts are clamped together to press the melted surfaces into direct contact with each other. The two parts are cooled while they remain clamped together, in direct contact with each other.

Das Verfahren umfasst folgende Verfahrensschritte: - Bereitstellen des Kunststoffrohres (1), welches die medienbeständige Innenschicht (4) und die formgebende Außenschicht (3) aufweist; - Anbringen des Vorschweißbundes (2) am Kunststoffrohr (1) durch Extrusionsbearbeitung an der formgebenden Außenschicht (3) des Kunststoffrohres (1), wobei bei der Extrusionsbearbeitung ein Extrusionsmaterial (8) auf die Außenschicht (3) des Kunststoffrohres (1) aufgebracht wird und wobei die Extrusionsparameter an die physikalischen Eigenschaften der Außenschicht (3) und der Innenschicht (4) angepasst sind, sodass die medienbeständige Innenschicht (4) während der Extrusionsbearbeitung nicht zerstört wird.

The extruder includes: a screw having a feed throat, and a welding rod pelletising assembly including a pellettiser for delivering pelletised plastic to the feed throat. The extruder includes a delivery nozzle mounted a barrel. An air heating assembly including a hot air delivery conduit having an annular exit formed in part by the delivery nozzle of the extruder is also disclosed.

Object of our invention is a machinery that, with the support of an adequate compound of polymer and/or co-polymer (welding compound) permits, throughout the use of temperature accelerators and an adequate preparation process of the items, the welding of plastic made materials and thus their assembly and/or repair. Temperature accelerators have the aim to conduct the welding material (compound of polymer and/or copolymer on the basis of the material to be welded) to temperatures notably higher than the fusion point of the different plastics. The welding material is rapidly heated (melted) in order to be directly applied to the parts to be welded, obtaining in this way the molecularization of the material, linking perfectly with the part to be welded. In order to avoid the degradation of the material that is lead to high temperatures, accelerators' length (max 300 mm) will permit a quite rapid passing, with the right time to reach the needed temperatures for a correct welding. In fact, the temperature accelerator has a structural length with a consequently relatively short operativeness, which permits the spilling out of the welding material without preheating in order to avoid the emersion of the wax components of the plastic materials. Anyway, it's length permits to avoid at the same time the degradation, thus the burning of the material itself, avoiding the loss of the molecular and chemical characteristics.

The upper and lower package portions are joined by heat-sealing in a region of overlap between the parts. One of the package portions (100;200;300) is provided with a heat-seal medium, such as a heat-seal lacquer or hot melt, in the region of overlap. As the lower package portion (100) is made from aluminium, a food product contained in the package may be prepared in a conventional oven directly in the lower package portion (100), once the upper package portion (200;300) has been removed.

A geogrid using fiber-reinforced polymeric strips and its producing method are disclosed. The geogrid of a lattice shape includes plural longitudinal fiber-reinforced polymeric strips longitudinally arranged in parallel at regular intervals and formed by reinforcing fiber in a thermoplastic polymer resin, and plural lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strip laterally arranged in parallel at regular intervals and formed by reinforcing fiber in a thermoplastic polymer resin. Each longitudinal fiber-reinforced polymer strip has at lease one first contact point crossed with the lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strip on the upper surface and at least one second contact point crossed with the lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strips on the lower surface. The contact points are fixed by welding the longitudinal and lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strips. The geogrid is excellent in installation capacity, frictional feature and shape stabilisation and shows high tensile strength and low tensile strain and low creep deformation.

Methods for forming a thermoplastic film with an attached closure strip are disclosed. The thermoplastic film can then be used to produce zippered reclosable plastic bags. The methods include providing a thermoplastic film web (10) having a sealing surface (12, 13) and providing a closure strip (21) having a binding surface (26, 36), both being maintained in a non-melted condition at room temperature. A heated thermoplastic binder layer (28a, 28b) is then extruded and positioned between the sealing surface (12, 13) of the film web (10) and the binding surface (26, 36) of the closure strip (21) very quickly after extrusion. The hot freshly extruded binder layer (28a, 28b) transfers enough heat to the closure strip (21) and to the film web (10) to melt the binding surface (26, 36) of the closure strip (21) and sealing surface (12, 13) of the film web (10). Pressure is then applied to the film web (10) and the closure strip (21) to seal the closure strip (21) to the film web (10). An apparatus (40, 50) for practicing the method at high speed is also disclosed.

The invention concerns a method and arrangement for manufacturing a wire or cord for welding floor covering, such as linoleum, or an artificial fibre floor covering, which filler wire forms a fixed joint with the separation edges of floor coverings provided with colours and patterns that are placed beside one another, under the influence of thermal processes, all this in such a way that there is hardly any difference in colours and patterns between weld and floor covering. To this aim, according to the invention, a mixture of coloured granules (4) is subjected to a process of mixing, heating (9) and cooling (13) in an arrangement that is designed to this aim.

The assembly comprises a plurality of first slotted partitions (12) intersection with a plurality of second slotted partitions (14) to form a matrix. The matrix is held together in a non-disassembling collapsible relationship by a plurality of weldments (42) at a plurality of intersections (40). Each weldment (42) is formed by injection of molten plastic between opposed face plies (16, 18) of intersecting partitions at an intersection at a sufficiently high temperature, to at least partially melt the spacers (20) between the face plies of the intersecting partitions to create a weldment (42) therebetween. The weldments (42) are formed of a plastic which is preferably the same type of plastic as that from which the partitions (12, 14) are made in order to aid in the recyclability of the partition assembly.
